Hecao Sea: A Close Encounter with Nature
1. Expectations Before Departure
I have always heard that Hecao Sea is a beautiful place, especially in winter, when migratory birds gather and the scenery is unique. This December, I finally embarked on a journey to Hecao Sea. Before departure, my heart was full of anticipation for the unknown beauty, imagining the spectacular sight of large flocks of migratory birds resting in the wetlands.
2. Arriving at Hecao Sea
When I finally stood by the Hecao Sea, the scenery before my eyes still amazed me.
(1) The Vastness of the Wetlands
Hecao Sea Wetland is very vast, covering water areas such as Bailongtan, Xingzilongtan, Heilongtan, Nanhai, Zhonghai, Beihai, and Donghai. In winter, Hecao Sea has a tranquil and mysterious atmosphere, with the water surface shimmering in the sunlight, complementing the surrounding mountains.
(2) A Paradise for Migratory Birds
1. A Variety of Species
This is indeed a paradise for migratory birds, with 198 recorded species. I saw various birds such as purple swamphens, whooper swans, greylag geese, ruddy shelducks, and grey cranes. They either rest on small islands in the water, forage in the grass by the shore, or frolic on the clear water surface. These birds dance gracefully in the sky and water of Hecao Sea, like nature's elves.
2. Close-up Viewing
I strolled along the edge of Hecao Sea and was fortunate to observe these migratory birds up close. They were not afraid of people at all, going about their activities. The elegant posture of the whooper swans was like ballet dancers dancing on the water; the greylag geese swam in groups, occasionally making calls, as if communicating with each other.
(3) The Changing Light and Shadow
1. Hecao Sea at Sunrise
In the morning, the sun rises, and the warm sunlight gradually dispels the cold. The light and shadow of Hecao Sea change colors, with the blue sky casting a beautiful reflection on the water surface. The foraging birds swim, creating ripples, like a dynamic painting unfolding before my eyes.
2. Hecao Sea at Sunset
In the evening, the sun sets, and the twilight casts a halo over Hecao Sea. The yellow reeds fall into the water, like golden islands. The returning travelers gradually disappear into the gorgeous sunset, leaving only distant silhouettes, evoking a faint sense of nostalgia in my heart.
