We selected Sai Aou - Chiang Mai Sausage, Koaw Soi - Chiang Mai Noodles, "Kaeng Hung Lay" - Pork belly Burmese style curry and for dessert, Kanom Wong - Chiang Mai Donut. Our experience started with Aoi greeting us at the hotel, then we went ingredient shopping at the local market (purchase of ingredients included in the tour), before heading to her cooking school and her organic garden. We learnt how to make all the dishes from scratch - even how to fill the sausage by hand! It was almost a full day experience as each cooking session took about 6-7 hours. Located in the hill surrounded by lush and serene landscapes, Veranda High Resort by MGallery offers a serene and peaceful setting for relaxing. It is takes approximately 30 minutes from the old town and we booked a private car prior to arrival. As the resort is quite big, there is a free buggy to get around. However, we really loved the setting and walking around is a better choice. Our room fronted the paddy fields within the resort and the room itself was spacious and clean. From check in to check out, our stay was magical. Thanks to all the staff for being very friendly. Loved the turn down service and the cookies. We loved the breakfast at The Higher Room Spread was not a lot but it was what they had was delicious. The view was also spectacular.
