The weather in The Hague, Netherlands, is unpredictable.
The Hague is a major hub for consulates, with most countries having their consulates located here.
The Hague is also home to the famous painting 'Girl with a Pearl Earring.' Originally housed in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, it was later moved to the Mauritshuis in The Hague. I traveled all the way here to see it 🥺. However, the Mauritshuis is relatively small, and compared to the national museum, it might not meet your expectations. If you're interested in visiting, you might want to consider this.
The weather in The Hague changes frequently, with sunny skies one moment and heavy rain the next. Because of this, you might even see double rainbows 😆. After arriving in The Hague, I finally understood why you often see bicycles being fished out of the canals in Dutch videos. The wind here is really strong; even without a typhoon, the wind is strong enough to blow you away.

The Hague ( Denhaag ) Central
Den Haag Centraal is the largest railway station in the city of The Hague in South Holland, Netherlands, and with twelve tracks, the largest terminal station in the Netherlands. The railway station opened in 1973, adjacent to its predecessor: Den Haag Staatsspoor, which was subsequently demolished.
I was surprised with those buildings along our way to the central station, the tall and new buildings that are seldom seen in Europe since almost buildings here are historical and preserved. The structure just like a Plaza Square in the street makes it more beautiful.

The Hague in the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Den Haag often referred to as The Hague is a great spot for tourists to visit whether from Europe or internationally.
There is plenty to do in the city from trying delicious foods, touring on one of the many electrical scooters, or even visiting one of the many museums located in the area.
The city is very walkable and the locals are quite friendly as well.
We happened to stay in Chinatown at a great location with friendly accommodations. Every morning we would go to have pancakes and decide what we wanted to do that day.
Amsterdam was not far away either and only a quick train ride through the countryside would get us there.
We particularly enjoyed the downtown area with the shops such as Decathlon (Sporting goods store) and Primark (clothing store).
If you have to to be in Europe touring or are just looking for a new destinations be sure to look out for Den Haag and add it to your list.

Mauritshuis, located in The Hague, is one of the premium art galleries in the Netherlands and is known for its vast collection of Dutch and Flemish paintings.
The building itself is a work of art and dates from the 17th century and is nestled between Hofvijver Lake and the parliament buildings.
Filled with over 800 works of art, this is one of the smaller museums in terms of size but it has some of the most iconic works in the world such as the Girl with a Pearl Earring which was created by Johannes Vermeer.

Admire Grote Kerk
Grote Kerk is found in The Hague and is a large church that is built from red brick in Gothic style.
The original building here would have been built in the 13th century although it was razed to the ground in 1539 and rebuilt in the present structure.
The church has an illustrious history as the spot where many members of the Dutch royal family where baptized including King Willem-Alexander who had his christening here.
Things to look out for at the church include the dominating bell tower which is the highest in Holland and contains 51 bells as well as the ornate wooden pulpit and the huge pipe organ.

TERRACOTTA ARMY
Xi'an, China, March 29, 1974, exactly today 45 years ago. Yang Zhifa and Wang Puzhi never thought that the hoe they plunged into the ground to make a well would turn out to be the most spectacular archaeological discovery of the 20th century: the Terracotta Army made during the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC). The statues are in the emperor Qin Shi Huang's tomb complex. Zhifa and Puzhi are a pair of brothers who work as farmers and live as neighbors in the Lintong County district, outside Xi'an city, Shaanxi province, China. Xi'an is not a popular city like Beijing or Shanghai. Although there are stories about the Monks Tong Sam Cong and Sun Go Kong or how the city became the entry point for Islam to China brought by Arab traders in 651 AD (error: previously written BC) during the Tang Dynasty. Syahdan, that day Zhifa and Puzhi agreed to make a well in a field about an hour's bus ride from their house. When she arrived and started hoeing, Zhifa was startled by something that hit the hoe. He immediately told Puzhi. At first they thought that what was hit was a Buddha statue. However, their guess was wrong: it was a statue of the Terracotta Warrior. The news of this important discovery spread quickly. Several months later, an archaeological team led by Zhao Kangmin and several Chinese officials arrived there. More intense excavation was carried out. The result: the number of Terracotta Troops is estimated to have reached more than 8,000 and all of them were made without using any tools or only using hands. Created since 246 BC involving more than 700,000 workers, this megaproject took up to 40 years to complete. In addition to the statues of soldiers, other statues that show professions such as musicians, acrobats, officials, and concubines were also found. In addition there are also about 40 thousand weapons made of copper. Starting from arrows, swords, to whips which, miraculously, are still in good condition despite being over 2,000 years old. Other statues: 130 chariots

The Hague in the Netherlands is so beautiful in October. The hotel I stayed at, Des Indes, was amazing!
It took me 50 minutes to get to The Hague from Amsterdam by train. Before I checked in, Des Indes was a part of the Marriott Luxury Collection, but now it's a member of the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW). Whether it's LC or LHW, this boutique luxury hotel meets all my requirements and standards. The view of the woods from my room was stunning!
There are some places in the world that will always have a special place in your heart. The Hague is one of those places! From the city to the beach, from new styles to old buildings, from shops to palaces, from exotic food to The Hague's fish farms, from international law to street art, there are so many memorable things. The Hague is even more beautiful in October! Scheveningen Beach, the Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery, and Noordeinde Palace are all must-see places! There's also another hotel I really like near Noordeinde Palace, Hotel Indigo The Hague - Palace Noordeinde, which is surrounded by high-end boutiques and art galleries.
The Hague, the third largest city in the Netherlands, is known as the "Royal City by the Sea". It has an art museum praised by Van Gogh, a beautiful and leisurely beach, Mondrian's art elements everywhere, and a "miniature landscape" amusement park... When you come here, you don't even need to plan your trip in advance, because there are so many places worth visiting. You might even find a pleasant surprise on your trip just by walking around!

Short Visit in The Hague City Center
#europetrip #vianasjourney #awesomepic
My visit to The Hague was short but I managed to explore a little bit of the city area. Here are some places that easily can be access in the city.
1. The passage; A shopping complex with plenty of items and food you can get from. The unique thing about The Passage is because of the grand architecture, glass-roofed shopping arcade dating from 1885, the passageway reminds me of St. Hubert in Brussels.
2. H&M; Located just opposite of The Passage, probably the fanciest H&M branch I ever entered.
3. Binnenhof Viewing Tower; You may enter for free. This viewing tower offers a unique view of the 800-year-old architecture of the Binnenhof during the renovation.
4. The New Church; Protestant Church with small cafe available in the facility. I was not able to go inside but it was a nice walk around the church.

The Hague, a place familiar from television
The Hague Square (Plein), in the center stands a statue of William I, the father of the Dutch nation, full name Willem van Oranje. He led the Dutch independence war against Spanish colonial rule. After Orange was assassinated, his son Maurice carried out a series of reforms on the Dutch army, turning it into the foremost army in Europe at that time. Orange is revered as the father of the nation, and his descendants have governed the Netherlands for generations, becoming hereditary kings of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 1815, a lineage that continues to this day. The Dutch victory in the independence war against Spain established the world's first capitalist republic, marking not only the triumph of capitalism over feudalism but also a victory for national liberation against colonial rule, serving as a model for the subsequent American War of Independence led by Washington. After its independence, the Netherlands entered the glorious era of maritime supremacy in the 17th century.
The last two photos are of the old Dutch Ministry of Justice.
