Switzerland, my healing travel diary 🌿 Day 1: Waking up to snow-capped mountains outside the window I woke up in a log cabin in Grindelwald, with the morning light of the Alps shining on the Eiger. I stared blankly with my coffee in hand—so the scenes in fairy tales really do exist. 🚂 Day 2: Taking the train into a postcard The GoldenPass Line slowly climbed uphill. On the left was the unrealistically blue Lake Brienz, and on the right were cliffs with waterfalls. My camera ran out of battery. 🦢 Day 3: Losing track of time on Lake Lucerne While feeding the swans, a local grandma handed me a piece of chocolate and smiled in German, saying "Guten Tag." Suddenly, I felt that a language barrier could also be very heartwarming. 🧀 Day 4: The adventure of cheese fondue I plucked up the courage to try the sticky cheese fondue, paired with chilled white wine, and surprisingly tasted the sunshine of the Alpine pastures. ⛰️ Day 5: Hiking the Jungfrau In the cold wind at an altitude of 3,454m, I watched the sea of clouds rolling under my feet and suddenly understood why the Swiss always say, "Take your time, the scenery won't run away." ✨ Last day: Getting lost in the town of Spiez I turned a corner and encountered a garden full of roses. An old man in a straw hat was pruning grapevines. He winked: "Next time you come, I'll treat you to my homemade wine." What Switzerland taught me: Some places are more interesting when you get lost; Some scenery must be experienced in person to be understood; And some emotions will remain in your heart and become eternal.

Grindelwald's dreamy slopes in perfect Swiss weather 😭 I asked my friend where I should go if I only had one day and couldn't make it to First Cliff Walk or Jungfraujoch. She said Grindelwald's dreamy slopes were a must-see (it's also a necessary stop on the way to First Cliff Walk and Jungfraujoch, so if you're planning to go up the mountains, consider staying here! I heard that hotels need to be booked in advance and are quite expensive). I was incredibly lucky to come during the National Day holiday in October! The weather was absolutely perfect for viewing the dreamy slopes! Blue skies, white clouds, snow-capped mountains, and green slopes—the world is truly beautiful 💗 The air was sweet! It was a day of having Swiss mountain lungs! The little mountain train shuttled in front of the snow-capped mountains, making me feel like I was in a painting 🌍 I checked some notes sharing the best spots to photograph the dreamy slopes. The parking lot platform of the Jungfrau Lodge, Crystal hotel, a few hundred meters down the road to the right of the train station, was closed off in October with barricades marked "private," so no photos could be taken there. But if you continue down the same road, you can still capture beautiful scenery!

#2024Travel Review Stayed at Hôtel & Apartments Kirchbühl in Grindelwald, Switzerland. Since we rented a car and drove ourselves, we chose this hotel with a remote location but a good view. From the balcony of the room, you can see the magnificent Eiger Peak, and the beautiful scenery is unobstructed! Hotel Kirchbuhl is a wooden building. It seems that all hotels in the Swiss mountains are in the shape of wooden houses, blending in with nature, which is quite dreamy. The interior of the house is also decorated with wood, which is very warm. There is also a self-operated restaurant, La Marmite, where we have breakfast, which is very rich and has a variety of cheeses. As for housing prices, prices in Switzerland are high and accommodation is really not cheap. The most basic double room of 6 pings with a balcony and breakfast included costs NT$10,000 per night for two people. However, a better superior double room or small suite only costs an additional 1,000 or 2,000 yuan. The highlight was the Jungfrau coffee, served in a whimsical paper cup placed inside a mug adorned with mountain scenes, which I joyfully took home as a memento. First Peak, 2168 m above sea level, is one of the interesting destinations for easy hiking on an easy route during the summer. Highlights include the lake in the middle of the mountain (Bachalpsee) / First Flyer (did not try, didn't dare 😅) and First Cliff Walk (when we went, it seemed like it wasn't open yet). To get to the peak, we have to take a train from Interlaken Ost to Grinderwald, which takes about 30-40 minutes. When we got off the Grinderwald train station, we followed the signs to the top of the mountain, which took about 10-15 minutes to walk. After that, we took the cable car, which felt like we were in an amusement park with a view of mountains and grasslands, which took about 40 minutes. From this point, we walked for another 1-2 hours to reach the lake in the middle of the mountain (Bachalpsee). Throughout the journey, we heard bells ringing on both sides, which were the sounds of bells hanging from the necks of cows living around. Many people may worry that hiking on First Mountain is difficult, but in fact, the trail is built as a flat path. It can be said that whether we come to hike with our favorite bicycle, come with a gang, or even bring a stroller to walk on the mountain, we can do it comfortably. We will see that First Mountain in summer has almost no snow left along the way. Therefore, if you want to experience snow in summer, you will have to go to a mountain that is higher than 3,500 m above sea level. For those who come to visit Interlaken, hiking at First Mountain is another interesting option besides Jungfrau Mountain. The main reasons we chose First Mountain are: 1. In early May, Switzerland finally welcomed the beautiful spring. The snow on the mountains began to melt, and all the facilities of First reopened! I often see people playing different "mobile games" at First at home, and this time I can finally experience it myself! 🫶🏻 We chose to stay in Grindelwald for 3 days and 2 nights, and one of the days was to visit this beautiful First! , which is part of the Alps, has spectacular mountains and fresh air. This time we used the half-price card to buy the Adventure Package First. It includes 2 rides of your choice and unlimited cable car rides. If you choose to play the amusement facilities, this package really saves a lot. Highly recommended! Once you take the cable car and slowly rise from the lowest point, it's really beautiful! Grindelwald is already lush and green in May. As we climb higher, the scenery slowly changes to snowy mountain views! No camera can capture that kind of beauty! We first played Glider. We would get down on our stomachs and fly like birds, seeing the beauty of First from above. I really enjoyed the incomparable sense of freedom 🤍The process was not scary at all! There is no centrifugal force, and my boyfriend who is afraid of heights loves this too! Afterwards, we played Mountain Cart at our own expense🏎️ which was super fun! ! It's like playing Mario Kart in the mountains, very fun. You can stop along the way and take some beautiful photos. Then, we took the cable car back to the highest point and walked the famous Cliff Walk. We originally wanted to take photos on that famous platform, but there were so many people...we had to give up and queue up for the Flyer instead! This is a thrilling zipline. We slid down from the top of the mountain, feeling the wind whistling past our ears. The beautiful view overlooking below makes your heart beat faster! This is very fun and has the most queues. We waited in line for more than 2 hours before we could play it, and they also cut off the queue at around 2 o'clock, not allowing other people to queue, so I recommend everyone to play this first! After playing on 3 facilities and taking crazy photos, we were all very tired. We didn't play Trottibike. If you want to play, be sure to pay attention to safety! We saw several groups of people with scratches, and the safety signs all explained what to do if they were injured. We guess that many people get hurt every day which is why there are so many explanations ☹️Everyone really needs to pay attention to safety and not be too happy! Tips: 1. I took a train from Interlaken to Grindelwald, and I used my Swiss travel pass for all kind transportations around Switzerland , but some mountains excursions cable cars are not included and they gave 50% discount. Then buy cable car ticket at the station ( if you have Swiss travel pass , half price that will be 34 CHF ) and if you want to do other adventures, you can buy additional package at vending machine. For me , I just went up to Grindelwald first to see mount Eager up close and hike surrounding until i come back . The scenery was jaw dropping and you will never want to leave the place .
