Honeymoon Reflections on Coco de Mer
I’m sharing this review reflecting on our honeymoon in Seychelles (August 2025), where we spent three weeks exploring Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. Everything below is what I wish I had known prior to booking. Coco de Mer Pros • The staff was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. Special mention to Joe at the bar (excellent cocktails and engaging conversation), Phillip at check-in, and Tharindu and Harry in the restaurant. • The pool was large and accessible with plenty of sun loungers both poolside and on the beach. • The pavilion's saltwater infinity pool was perfect for watching the sunset. • Excellent snorkeling off the pavilion, plus three platforms to swim out to, offering a fun challenge. • The staff consistently exceed expectations to ensure comfort and care are prioritized. • Honeymoon perks included 10% off a full-body welcome massage and a romantic beachfront gazebo dinner (the food was exceptional!). • Spacious, immaculate rooms with a bright and cozy feel. • Fresh and high-quality food for all meals. • A free two-hour guided nature walk through the hotel’s private trail with an expert guide (we didn’t participate but heard great feedback). Cons • Not suitable for guests with mobility constraints—no lifts or stair lifts, and many rooms require climbing lots of steps (unless you’re at pool level). • Evening meals have limited vegetarian options, with menus focused heavily on curry most nights (great if you love curry, less so if you don’t). • The very remote location makes it difficult to get around without a rental car.

"A Little Gem on Praslin Island"
Castello Beach Hotel on Praslin Island is a charming gem nestled in the Indian Ocean. Staying here feels like being part of a family, with staff dedicated to ensuring guests' comfort. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, you should experience the exquisite restaurant that serves delectable seafood (especially the lobsters) and curry dishes! Additionally, the bar features a great team ready to craft cocktails to your liking—don't miss the frozen daiquiri from Ranjendra. They went above and beyond to fulfill our requests. If you're looking to explore or embark on adventures around the islands, you can rely on the professional reception staff. The location is ideal for reaching Anse Georgette or Valle de Mai quickly via bus, with numerous bus stops and grocery stores nearby. Be sure to try the samosas from a local grocery store run by Indian, Pakistani, or Nepali folks. Overall, enjoy your stay!
