A night talk at Eden's Cafe, Okpo

#myhiddengems After meal we went for a second round at Eden cafe nearby the restaurant, a cafe opened till midnoght selling not only coffee and juices, but also draft beer. We went as a group of 4 and irdered some beers and juices, the lady owner is so kind to offer some nuts, tidbits and her home made pecan oie, how lucky of us and how kind of her!!! The night is spent with laughter, loud talking and we really enjoyed our time there. It is a well night spent and we will definitely go again.

A decent grilled Wagyu shop in the small town of Okpo, Hwawoo Ya

#myhiddengems We were in Geoje for business and went to this shop for dinner called Hwawooya, means the house of Wagyu. They served thinly sliced barbecued Wagyu from Australia, and most of the meat is from prime cuts. We ordered the 900g set for 4 person consisting of different parts of the beef slices, and it comes with celeries, spring onions etc to be eaten with the meat. The quality of the meat is really of high standards and we all really enjoyed them. Finally we complete our meal with the beef soup stock ramen, and the meal is deemed completed and satisfied.

This island is the second largest island of Korea after Jeju island. It is also the region where the largest shipyards are located. I was surprised that the number of people who spoke English on the island was quite high. You have a very good chance of seeing a thousand and one shades of blue on the island and resting under the glass trees accompanied by the sound of birds. Pork Knuckle being a favourite delicacy in Korea is well lived and accepted by young and old, ladies and gentlemen. This shop in Geoje, called Sobe Kitchen serves extraordinary varieties of pork knuckle and boiled pork. You can choose normal flavours, spicy and chilled. Many would pair them with boiled pork slices to ease the oiliness of the knckles. The best way to eat is to mixed with braised kimchi and garlic and chives. Filled with pubs, drinking parlour etc, the city still rmain vibrant during the night. This newly established restaurant serves wonderful European style delicacy. Appetize yourself with Swiss rosti first before tucking into the main course. The roasted beef and grilled lamb with rosemary herbs is excellent in texture and taste. Oedo Botania is a cafe situated at the outskirt area of Gujora in the Island of Geoje. Run by the owner of Oedo Botania, this cafe boasts itself with a marvelous concept of nursery glasshouse by the seaside. The patisserie chef is also certified in Paris to create signature menus such as cakes with a shape of apple, marbles etc. Those who are staying at town area such as Okpo and Gohyeon can take the oportunity to visit here for a nice and chillax surroundings with nice view. There is a walk path laid out from the dock through and around the gardens that you can follow and get to see all of the grounds and the views of Geoje. There is also a pavilion that looks something like a showcase of Greek statues. Places of interest include the Venus Garden, the Cactus Garden and the Stairway to Heaven. The walk takes approximately two hours to complete so do wear appropriate footwear and wear lightly coloured attire. Bring along sunglasses, wind breaker and drinking water too. Solo Weekend Getaway

Last month I took a solo weekend getaway to Geoje, South Korea. I booked a room at Oedo Palace Pension.  I was nervous about the room, because I've never stayed at a pension before but it was nice.  I used a tripod and camera remote for majority of my pictures. I had to stand in line at a few of the popular locations for photos, which seems to be normal for Korea. Here are a few pictures from my trip. Places I visted: Oedeo Bontania Garden. The garden was actually on another island, so I caught a ferry there. Haegeumgang Island, we slowed down around this island on the ferry to Oedo. Windy Hill. The Windmill at this location is popular because it was used for filming in a few Korean Dramas. Maemi Castle.The visit to the castle was really nice; it was located next to the sea. Geoje SeaWorld. I was surprised to learn there was a SeaWorld here. I've never been to a SeaWorld before, but this one felt more like an aquarium. Geunpo Cave. This location has 3 different caves and is popular for it's shadow/silhouette  photos. Cafe Britaly and Highclass 153 Cafe. Cafe Britaly has the Geoje sign and Highclass 153 Cafe has the swing. #summervacation

Bada Baram Seafood - Maemi Castle Main Branch

#voyagevibes I made a reservation in advance and was able to enter without any waiting. Although the group ahead of us was large, causing a slight delay for our food, it wasn't too long of a wait. The owner was exceptionally kind, and the food was absolutely delicious. The highlights were the fried crab and fried squid, which were outstanding! To top it off, the crab ramen soup was incredible—a perfect way to finish the meal. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here. We had a great BBQ meal at Geoje!!!

While traveling to Geoje we had BBQ pork for dinner at this restaurant called Manko Galbi. Located inside the small alley by the main road, this shop serves excellent quality pork bellies and necks, and the marinated pork ribs are very fresh and succulent too. The price is also very reasonably cheap which means we have the budget to eat more. The restaurant is big enough to accommodate 10 of us at one long table. We all had a really good time having meat and alcohol, and we will definitely come back again.

A standout feature is the staircase-style beach, allowing visitors to dip their feet in the water. The wide deck and numerous benches make it a perfect spot for leisurely walks and relaxation. The open plain and spacious parking lot make it a popular spot for fishing and family outings. You can see the wide-open sea right from the bed, and you can even watch the sunrise from the bed in the morning, which was very healing. Choosing this accommodation for the view alone was a success! ✔️ Facilities: There are so many things to do inside the hotel, including an indoor swimming pool, sauna, and gym. Especially, the swimming pool was clean and had a great view, perfect for taking memorable photos. ✔️ Breakfast: The breakfast is buffet-style, with a wide selection of both Korean and Western dishes. I particularly enjoyed the warm seaweed soup and the bakery corner. ✔️ Service: The staff were very friendly! They promptly addressed any requests, making my stay very comfortable. The Fora Suites Hotel was perfect in terms of view, facilities, and service, making it a very satisfying place. I highly recommend it if you are traveling to Geoje Island!
