Olot still retains some interesting monuments, such as the 18th-century parish church of Sant'Esteve, which houses the Baroque altarpiece of El Rose; the Mare de Déu del Tura sanctuary, built in the late 18th century; the El Carme Monastery; and the old hospice, now home to the Regional Museum, which houses an excellent collection of modernist paintings. The town also boasts many aristocratic mansions, such as those of Solà-Morales, Vayreda, Trinxeria, Bolòs, and Ventós. From Olot, you can also visit the nearby La Garrotxa volcanic area, a declared nature reserve.
