Refined Flavours and Thoughtful Curation at MOKE
Dining at MOKE was a beautifully orchestrated culinary experience, marked by elegant presentation and a menu that thoughtfully explored texture, flavor, and creativity.
From the moment we sat down, the tasting journey began with a Raw Fish Taco, offering a refreshing start that teased the palate. The Crumbed Duck Leg followed with a rich, satisfying crispness, pairing perfectly with the delicate sweetness of the Profiterole filled with Spiced Ricotta.
The Quince, Local Cheese, and Lavosh course was a lovely midpoint, marrying savory and sweet elements with a satisfying crunch. A special mention goes to the Mini Potato Cake with Oscietra Caviar (an optional addition) — a luxurious bite that elevated the experience with its silky texture and subtle brininess.
The Southern Blue Fin Tuna, dressed with macadamia, truffle, and yuzu, was a standout — fresh, balanced, and exquisitely plated. Accompanied by Freshly Baked Focaccia and Salted Butter, it grounded the more delicate dishes with a comforting warmth.
The Silverbeet Risotto with 20-Year Aged Balsamic was earthy yet complex, and the optional Marron with Garlic Butter added an indulgent touch, though the additional $50 may feel steep for some diners.
Moving into the mains, the Lamb Loin with a Parsley Crust and Parsnip Purée was expertly cooked, harmonized with perfectly roasted Baby Potatoes. The dish offered a classic yet elevated conclusion to the savory course.
For dessert, the Rhubarb Sorbet and Lemon Curd provided a bright, zesty interlude, cleansing the palate ahead of the decadent finale — a 54% Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart with Blackberry Purée that was both rich and beautifully balanced.
Overall, MOKE delivers a well-paced fine dining experience with a clear narrative in its tasting menu. The service was attentive yet relaxed, allowing the food to take center stage. A place highly recommended for those seeking refined flavors in a warm, unpretentious setting.
