Luckily I was there before the policy was implemented and tried to hold a koala, however is Long Pine still worth it without a koala cuddle? I personally think it’s worth it! The Long Cypress Zoo is the largest and animal-rich zoo in Eastern Australia, and visitors can observe and feed kangaroos up close, as well as visit penguins, marsupials and other Australian indigenous animals. When we went there, the weather wasn't too good, so it was somewhat disappointing compared to Melbourne and Sydney; but this disappointment vanished the moment we saw the Gold Coast~ ⭕️Gold Coast The sand is fine and dense, slipping through the fingers quickly when grabbed; waves come one after another, constantly taking away the sand beneath your feet, making you sink down continuously, feeling like you're caught in quicksand in the desert, even a bit thrilling~ ⭕️Gold Coast SkyPoint Observation Deck The breathtaking 360-degree observation deck offers a view of the 30-kilometer coastline, waves, beaches, and the villas below with private pools, showcasing the best of the Gold Coast ⭕️Site of the World Expo: Brisbane was the host of the 1988 World Expo. The pavilions from the expo have all been dismantled, leaving only a Nepalese pavilion, so you can still see Southeast Asian-style architecture in Brisbane. ⭕️Kangaroo Point: Actually, there are no kangaroos at Kangaroo Point. Beautiful Sanctuary 50min away from Brisbane✨ We spent half day there, arrived around 11 am (koalas where in full active mode), there is dozens of them all around the park and they seemed really chilled and happy! There is a zone where you can see and touch the kangaroos who run freely! They are friendly and completely used to people! We bought a $2 bag of food and try to feed them but we soon realized they were thirsty and not hungry! There is more animals like snakes, crocodiles, dingos and so on. Experiences like hold a koala were $45, touch one $35, take a photo $15 extra. This is a must-go spot if you travel to Australia! Nowhere else in the world you would find koalas and kangaroos in their natural habitat. They were well taken care of, not in cages, healthy and thriving. You can even take a photo with koala, or feed and pet little kangaroos. For the first time in my life I found out that kangaroo's hair was soft. Or at least the small ones. I lived in Sydney last year, but I didn't have a chance to hold a koala there, so I went to Brisbane to hold a koala! Here is some information that is not on the website. The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary has a daily schedule of events. Each one is about 10 to 15 minutes. If you go first thing in the morning, you can see all the events by noon. Bird feeding, sheep and dog shows, bird shows, etc. It is better to buy tickets to hold a koala several weeks in advance. When I went, it seems that the tickets were sold out on the day. The staff will take a photo and give you a printed copy. You can take a photo with your own phone or camera. Kangaroo food is placed at the entrance, so please bring one bag per person.
