The Chengdu area has been free of flooding and the people have been living peacefully and affluently ever since it was built over 2200 years ago. The distance between Dujiangyan and Chengdu is only about 59km, takes about 1 hour by car. Traveling from Chengdu to Dujiangyan by private car with tour guide is the most convenient way. Situated near the historic Dujiangyan Irrigation System in Sichuan, the so-called “Blue Tears” are a captivating nighttime display where the Minjiang River seems to glow with soft blue light, turning the flowing water into shimmering streaks. While it’s not a natural bioluminescent phenomenon, the visual effect is equally mesmerizing. The spectacle is created using carefully positioned LEDs that trace the river’s current, producing luminous patterns that appear to move with the water. In reality, the lights give the river a more emerald-green hue, which still looks magical against the night sky. When to Visit: Best seen shortly after sunset—typically between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM in summer, and slightly earlier in winter. Recommended to visit as early as possible to avoid crowds and our Panda friends are more active in the morning. We saw the Giant Panda's feeding which they do very close to opening time so make sure you are through the gates as it opens. This facility was tranquil, clean and the park is just nice in terms of size which is suitable for senior citizen not too tiring to walk around.
