Watching the sunrise at Dresden train station.
Traveling from Dresden to Berlin in Germany, I woke up early in the morning to catch a cheaper train. When I arrived at the train station, I happened to see the sunrise, which was a pleasant surprise besides saving on the fare. The train station in the morning wasn't too crowded, so it didn't feel scary. Watching the sky gradually brighten with the sunrise along with the train tracks had a unique charm.
Germany-Dresden Semperoper
#100waysoftravel Semperoper, a world renowned opera house is a place of cultural and architectural beauty of the German city, nestled on the banks of the Elbe River. The building grand arches, detailed sculptures and impressive designs are the first that grab everyone’s attention. A pity we were not into opera but the interior of the building is just as awesome. Being in Germany of cos we did not miss the Pork Knuckle in a cosy German restaurant which is a must-try German dish🤗
Dresden: Where History and Culture Collide
Nestled along the banks of the Elbe River, Dresden is a city that wears its history on every cobblestone. As the capital of Saxony, this German gem is a blend of ancient charm and modern vibrancy, making it a must-visit destination for any traveler. My recent trip to Dresden was a fascinating exploration of art, architecture, and culture, leaving an indelible mark on my soul.
**Architectural Marvels:**
Dresden is a living museum of architectural wonders. The iconic Frauenkirche, a symbol of the city's resilience after World War II, stands proudly in the heart of the Altstadt (Old Town). Its Baroque architecture, meticulously restored to its former glory, is a testament to Dresden's determination to preserve its heritage. The Zwinger Palace, an 18th-century masterpiece, is a marvel of Rococo design, housing galleries that boast magnificent artworks from the Renaissance to the Romantic era.
**Cultural Extravaganza:**
Dresden's cultural scene is as diverse as it is rich. The Semperoper, one of the world's most exquisite opera houses, offers captivating performances that transport you to another world. Visiting the Green Vault, one of the oldest museums in Europe, felt like stepping into a treasure trove – a mesmerizing collection of precious gems, intricate sculptures, and historical artifacts. The Albertinum, another cultural gem, showcases modern art in a setting that juxtaposes the contemporary against the historical.
**Riverside Charm:**
A leisurely stroll along the Elbe River provided moments of tranquility. The picturesque scenery, with the sun setting behind the silhouette of the city's skyline, was nothing short of breathtaking. Local vendors dotted the riverbanks, offering delightful snacks and souvenirs, adding to the charm of this serene setting.
**Culinary Delights:**
Dresden's culinary scene is a delightful fusion of traditional German fare and international influences. From hearty bratwursts and sauerkraut to delicate pastries and aromatic coffee, every meal was a culinary adventure. Local beer gardens provided a perfect ambiance to savor regional brews and engage in conversations with friendly locals, creating unforgettable memories.
**A Warm Hospitality:**
What struck me most about Dresden was the warmth of its people. Locals were eager to share the city's history, recommend hidden gems, and engage in conversations about life in Dresden. Their friendliness added an extra layer of richness to my travel experience, making me feel like a welcomed guest rather than a tourist.
In conclusion, Dresden is a city that captures the heart and soul of its visitors. Its architectural wonders, cultural richness, culinary delights, and warm hospitality make it a destination that lingers in your memory long after you've left. Whether you're an art enthusiast, history buff, or simply a traveler seeking new experiences, Dresden offers a captivating journey through time and culture that is nothing short of magical.
Go to Germany and visit the top 5 places worth visiting.
1.) Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Picture 123
With centuries of history, Cologne is one of the best cities in Germany to explore. Located on the western edge of the country, this city blends everything together and is perfect for a weekend getaway. For me, the most impressive landmark must be Cologne Cathedral. Located on the banks of the Rhine River, it overlooks Cologne and is well worth a visit. Not only that, but there is also a lot of history within its walls. The Gothic architecture of the cathedral is the most ambitious building project since the Middle Ages.
2.) Rottenburg, Plot 456
One of the most vibrant and colorful places in Germany is Rothenburg. Well, at least in my opinion!
Rothenburg is located on the edge of the state of Bavaria in northern Germany, and is one of the best tourist destinations in Germany. For many years, it has been included in the route of the Romantic Road.
3.) Burger Figure 7
One of the treasures of the Elbe River is the city of Hamburg. Trust me, Hamburg has too many epic sights!
Although it may not have the "advantages" of Berlin, as one of the best destinations for city travel in Germany, it has a strong influence.
4.) Dresden Figure 8
Dresden is located in the Saxony region of Germany and is a city about the size of Edinburgh in the UK. This makes it big enough to be vibrant and full of things to do, but also small enough to explore over a long weekend.
Dresden was once known as the "Jewel Box", housing several luxurious buildings and artworks.
5.) Munich Figure 9
Munich is known as the capital of Bavaria and is undoubtedly a very beautiful city, as well as one of the most worthwhile places to visit in Germany. Not only that, Munich can be the gateway to the wider Bavarian region, and can also easily become the starting or ending point of your travels.
Dresden - a pearl on the banks of the Elbe.
Dresden has many treasures and resources. It has natural wine regions, rich palaces and castles, and the largest and most abundant collection museum in Europe. It is truly a gem on the banks of the Elbe River!
Dresden is a well-known wine-producing region in eastern Germany, with a complete wine production chain and picturesque vineyards. There is also a wine road in Saxony waiting for us to discover.
We visited the Wackerbarth Castle winery this time, a vineyard that resembles a castle. The scenery alone made us a little tipsy.
The grapes here are mainly used to make white wine. Each grape must pass strict selection standards before entering the wine-making process, and the requirements for raw materials are very high. Of course, there is a wine tasting session in the winery. It's not an exaggeration to say that this is the best wine I have ever tasted. There is no sour taste like ordinary wine when it enters the mouth, and both the taste and aftertaste are a refreshing and sweet deliciousness.
Drove to the city center for lunch and went to a tastefully decorated restaurant with an elegant medieval castle atmosphere. Even the dining seats were designed to look like a carousel, full of childlike fun.
After lunch, we started our street sweeping mode. This is the Zwinger Palace, the most eye-catching Baroque-style building in Germany and a symbol of Dresden. It was built in 1709 and served as the residence of the ruling families of the Saxon Kingdom throughout history. With its intricate curves and decorations, it is magnificent and dazzling. In the center is a wide square, surrounded by palace buildings in a circle, and exquisite stone carvings can be seen everywhere.
This is the Saxon Palace, which has been the residence of the Saxon kings since the 15th century and the center of power and politics in the region. The Green Dome (Green Vault) connected to it, with an area of more than 1000 square meters, houses more than 3000 royal collections, which are definitely worth savoring.
The Green Dome has many exhibition halls, divided into exhibits of royal goods, equestrian equipment, exquisite ornaments, etc. The exhibition is reasonable and the placement is extremely aesthetically pleasing. Every collection is amazing, and my friends and I lingered and were amazed at how a craft was crafted so delicately hundreds of years ago. The world's largest green diamond is truly dazzling!
Here, the exhibition showcases the related clothing and accessories of European palace archery in the past, along with introductions, which looks very interesting.
This is the king's battle cloak, with exquisite embroidery stitch by stitch. In addition to the rich exhibits, the architecture of the Green Dome is also very impressive, all hidden treasures~ Looking out from the Green Dome, the streets of Dresden still retain their medieval appearance.
Dresden is an inclusive city where ancient horse-drawn carriages and modern trams blend together seamlessly, each with its own reason for existence, creating a harmonious coexistence without any sense of discord.
The Pillnitz Palace is located in the suburbs of Dresden. It is a chinoiserie-style castle and the summer palace of the Kingdom of Saxony.
Unfortunately, we went on a Monday when the China Palace was closed. It is said that there are many Chinese elements in the exhibits, so we can only hold onto our expectations and wait for the next encounter.
The Palace of Pernitz is surrounded by a magnificent garden. Although it is not possible to enter the museum for a visit, it is also great to enjoy the scenery in the garden.
Everywhere is lush green, which has a taste of summer in the castle.
Actually, behind the palace, there is a beautiful corridor with rows of pillars. From a distance, it creates a strong sense of depth and is a great place for filming~

The Many Attractions In Dresden Germany
Dresden Germany also known as Florence on the Elbe is popular for the many art and antique collections, the old historic buildings where you are able to see the imprints and carvings of somewhat similar to the Italian architecture that reminds me of the colosseum or even the many cathedral all around Italy.
One of the oldest building here is the dresden castle said to be at least 400 years old. It is amazing how such structure is still standing tall and strong, same goes for the older buildings which somewhat has the same similar architecture as the castle.
The few landmark that you should go to is the Dresden Zwinger, the Frauenkirche Dresden, the royal Palace and the procession of princes. All these attractions are located in my photos. Don't miss this out when visiting Germany, this is some historical knowledge that you can't get from other places.

The oldest Christmas market in Germany🎄
Today, I'm introducing the oldest Christmas market in Germany!
This small but crowded place during the Christmas season is located in Dresden and is usually called Stiezelmarkt~
You may have seen the photos taken from the observation deck on social media. Unfortunately, I visited on the 24th, which was the last day of the market, so I couldn't see the view after the sun went down!
📍So if you want to take a photo of the view from the observation deck, I recommend visiting before the 24th!
My sister who was studying abroad told me that the Dresden Christmas market has a theme every year! So the roofs of the market stores are decorated according to a different theme every year👍🏼
The foods in the photos are famous here🙂
The Christmas market was canceled again this year due to Omicron, but I hope it will open again next year〰️😭

The Dresden Zwinger
We were lucky to see everything outside without huge crowds of tourists, the weather was very kind to us.
The exterior ( just like everything in the old part of Dresden ) proves that people can do fantastic things, not just being capable of destroying everything they build.
On the other hand, the gallery is nowhere near complete - there are supposed to be a few hundred paintings inside while there are only 55, just the first floor with 3 halls are available for visiting. Next (upper) part of the gallery will be open in March 2020.
The staff at the entrance ( and inside the gallery ) are quite rude. My sister had a tiny bag ( smaller than mine - I have my photo equipment in it, usually put it in front of me and hug it - worked in every museum so far ) was rudely told to take it down to the lockers yet many people with bags was bigger than hers were allowed in without any problems. Quite a bad experience.
The palace was built by Agust Mocny, who was elected King of Poland. August was known for his penchant for glamor and interest in women. Historians say he had three hundred illegitimate children and a lot of lovers. The lovers were divided into three categories and no biographies of the King were able to catalog everyone. Zwinger is a magnificent palace in the Baroque style with neoclassical elements built in the 17th century. The inspiration for the construction of Zinger was Versailles.

The Frauenkirche in Dresden is a beautiful Protestant Cathedral. It's one of the most recognizable attractions in Dresden and certainly worth a visit. The interior is quite stunning, especially the view up into the dome and cupola.
Travel | Dresden Semper Opera
# Semper Opera #
Dresden legend Semper Opera House was first built in 1841, that year became a European classical song One of the representatives of the theater. It was rebuilt after being burnt down by an unexpected fire. However, it was completely destroyed during World War II. It was rebuilt in the 1960s and 1970s and completed in 1985.

The most luxurious museum ever seen~The Green Treasure Hall
Green Treasure Hall is named after the green roof and pillars of this treasure house. Its history dates back to 1586 and is reserved for the royal family. The use of treasures, here is Europe's largest royal treasure museum, you can imagine how precious and valuable jewelry and artifacts. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the best treasure house I have ever seen. The luxury of the collections makes me open my eyes
Aspect 1: The Green Treasure Hall is not only in the building. The typical Baroque style used is also stored in this treasure house, which is a rich exhibit from Baroque to Classicism. The unique architectural division in the pavilion is also a highlight, making people forget to return, can't let go, can't open their eyes.
Wish 2: gold and silver, jewels, amber, ivory, and gemstones, elegant bronze statues and goldsmith's artwork, more than 3,000 precious exhibits, naked in front of a gorgeous mirrored wall. Out of the barrier of the glass cover, people can enjoy the full brilliance of the Baroque treasure house.
Wish 3: gold and silver, jewels, amber, ivory, and gemstones, elegant bronze statues and goldsmith's artwork, more than 3,000 precious exhibits, naked in front of a gorgeous mirrored wall. Out of the barrier of the glass cover, people can enjoy the full brilliance of the Baroque treasure house.
Aspect 4: In addition to the weapons, the Treasure Hall also displayed the clothes of the nobles at that time, exquisite workmanship, superior fabrics, and the styles are still not tacky, so the aesthetics of the time and the craftsmen heart.
Dresden, Saxony, Germany, because of its Baroque style of architectural style, and rich humanity, is known as the Florence on the Elbe.
Today, not only for foreign tourists, but for Germans, it is like their back garden. In addition to visiting the oldest Christmas market in Germany during Christmas, when the weather is good, come over the Elbe River. It is also great to have a drink and watch the opera.
In the vicinity of Dresden, you can also get in touch with nature, here is the only national park in Saxony - Little Switzerland. According to legend, in the 18th century, several Swiss painters came to sketch and discovered that the place was surrounded by mountains and waters, the geological structure was strange, and the famous paintings were widely circulated, and they blurted out: "It is like Switzerland!" (Perhaps until now), Switzerland is synonymous with paradise, the name spreads instantly, and over time, it becomes the official name.
From Dresden to Little Switzerland National Park, you need to take the Eurorail and take the Kurort Rathen from the main train station, where you should strongly recommend the European Pass! Don't think about it at all, just take the pass and start, just fill in the name and time of the departure and arrival site.
If you are buying a S bahn ticket, you need to be aware that the station from Dresden to Little Switzerland National Park has crossed three districts. If you can't buy the ticket, you will be fined in minutes. Tears, and tickets across the three districts are also expensive, minutes are more expensive than the number of days of the Eurotsutsu ticket!

Dresden: the Biggest Hidden Gem City in Europe
Speaking of travel destinations in Europe, we can easily come up with a list of ten to twenty European cities, but most of our lists would not contain this name: Dresden.
Torn and burnt to ashes during WWII, Dresden has since undergone a series of reconstruction, under which I genuinely felt the phoenix has reborn. The entire city area, despite small, had incredibly intricate architecture and decorations. It has a lot of classical/baroque influenced architectural details, to a point it doesn’t feel so much like a typical German city like Cologne/Stuttgart/Munich but England/Paris.
Every corner feels like a photography material, but too bad, it was rainy all day during my visit. Highly recommending one to throw Dresden to their to-visit list, even just for a day trip.

Dresden's fairy tale, meet the castle of your dreams.
Winter in Germany is really cold! ❄️ But in Dresden, this coldness is exchanged for the warmest memories. I wander through every corner of this city, feeling the traces of history and the fusion of modernity.
Walking into the old town is like entering a fairy tale world, and the colorful buildings make people stop and admire 📸. Especially the famous Dresden Castle, which stands on the top of the mountain, overlooking the whole city, like a kind elder guarding this land. I stood under the castle, looking up at its majestic figure, and a feeling of indescribable emotion surged in my heart.
Walking along the Elbe River, the river flows quietly, and the ancient bridges connect the two banks, and every stone seems to tell the story of the past. I seem to be able to hear the whispers of history and feel the passage of time. 🌉
In this city, I also found a super cute dessert shop. The cakes in the store are sweet but not greasy, and every bite is a taste of happiness. 🍰 I sat by the window, tasting the delicious food while watching the world outside the window, feeling that time had stopped.
In the evening, the city lights up, and the whole of Dresden becomes a dreamlike stage. I walk in the bright lights, and every time I look back, I can see different scenes, and every time I turn around, there are new surprises. 🌟
This trip made me fall in love with Dresden. Although this city has experienced the baptism of war, it still stands strong there, telling the power of life in its own unique way. I think this is the best memory Dresden has given me! 💖

Solo Travel Dresden Accommodation Recommendation
If you want to travel to Dresden alone and save some money but don't want to stay in a hostel sharing a room with others, you can consider staying at a&o Dresden. This is a single room with its own bathroom, so you don't have to worry about sharing with others. I personally recommend it, and it's not too far from the train station, within walking distance. Very good.

Dresden's best
Dresden, the capital of Saxony region in Germany is absolutely fantastic with all the historic buildings perseved in the city centre. Many of them actually were destroyed during the Second Word War, but thankfully later on they were rebuilt, so even today we can enjoy this precious baroque and rococo style.
The Zwinger is under renovation right now, but the Frauenkirche and the Royal Palace are in great condition. They would form my top 3 best places to visit there.

The Procession of Princes is a famous mural located in the city center of Dresden, Germany. It's a must-visit spot for anyone traveling to this city. Orangutan at Zoo Dresden 🇩🇪
#summerdestinations
Visiting Zoo Dresden was an amazing experience, but the real highlight for me was spending time with the orangutans! 🦧 Located in the heart of Dresden, this zoo is known for its impressive ape house, which houses some of the most charismatic orangutans I’ve ever seen. Their exhibit is spacious and well-designed, with plenty of climbing structures and interactive elements to keep them entertained. Watching these intelligent creatures swing from ropes and interact with each other was truly captivating! 😍
The zoo entrance fee is around €14 for adults, which I found to be quite reasonable given the variety of animals and the quality of the enclosures. The zoo is easy to navigate, and there are plenty of shaded areas to relax in between exhibits. Don't miss the daily feeding times – it's a great opportunity to learn more about the animals from the keepers! 🥭🍌
After my visit, I took a short stroll to the nearby Großer Garten, Dresden’s largest park, which was perfect for a peaceful walk and a picnic. The zoo is also close to Dresden’s historic Old Town, so you can easily spend the afternoon exploring sights like the Frauenkirche and the Zwinger Palace. Zoo Dresden and its incredible orangutans made for a perfect day in the city! 🌳🦍
