When in Melbourne, you must visit the sea. If you don't have enough time, visiting the two piers near the city is also a good choice. Melbourne City Marina is an inner harbor surrounded by tall buildings. Although you can't see the beach, the view is wide, the air is fresh, and there are fewer tourists. It's a relatively niche attraction, perfect for relaxing and daydreaming. The other pier, St Kilda Pier, is a more popular attraction. Here, you can ride the Ferris wheel, play parasailing, go down to the beach to surf, and watch the sunset in the evening. At this time of year, you can also walk along the boardwalk to the sea to see the little penguins returning home after sunset (unfortunately, it was too dark to take clear pictures, but there were two little penguins next to the black stones). A reminder for those who want to see the penguins: it can be quite cold and windy by the sea at night, so remember to wear warm clothes, preferably with a hat. The penguins only come ashore after sunset, and we didn't see them until after 9:40 pm.

Booked the most expensive corner room (no suites available) two days in advance. The hotel only has five of these room types. The corner room is 46 square meters. At first glance, the area doesn't seem large, but it's quite comfortable to stay in. It's equipped with a small sofa, a desk, Bluetooth speakers, and the bathtub is nicely positioned for watching the sunset. They provided two bottles of milk, and in the evening, a plate of desserts was delivered, which were tasty and not too sweet. The Marriott, which opened in 2021, deserves praise for its stunning rooftop infinity pool, the well-equipped gym, and the grand executive lounge. The lounge is almost on par with those in China, offering CICO 24h canned drinks, alcohol, nut bars, cookies, and the evening happy hour food is also good, with lamb skewers + yogurt sauce that are not greasy. Although the breakfast can't compare with those in China, it beats the old Marriott in the center of Melbourne, as well as the newly opened Le Meridien, Four Points, and Element. You can check in at 9 am on the day of arrival and stay until 4 pm the next day. At a price of 216 dollars, it's truly the king of cost-performance in all of Australia.

#australiatrip I know is crazy but this is one of the experience that we wanted to try traveling from Melbourne ton Sydney by train. The train ticket as expensive as flight tickets . The train station in Melbourne is easy to find . There are also many got stall to sell food and express market for you to buy food . You can take the food onboard too. ✅be there at least 1 hour early if you not familiar with the train station . No one is checking out ticket when we enter to the train station . ✅ Checked in luggage for 20kg. If carrying any luggage you can checked in for free limit to 20kg. Anything more than 20kg they will not allowed you check in. You need to find the check in counter before you onboard . ✅every row has it own toilet located at the back of the seats. The toilet is clean and neat . ✅food onboard , no one is selling food onboard but there are a stall selling food onboard . Just follow the sign of “buffet” . ✅seat was okay, got a tray infront of of you. I take a window seat that’s is why I can have some good sleep. ❌no WiFi onboard so you need to use your own data . Suggest to pre download some movie becuase the network is really bad . I can’t event load my YouTube . If you want to save one night accommodation , this is the best way for you to traveling to Sydney by train. Cost effective :)
