Shaoxing's version of The Emerald City of Oz, a secluded paradise hidden among the mountains, the tranquil Yangxin Valley is green all year round, and from afar, you can see the red standalone houses scattered in the valley. I discovered an incredibly beautiful homestay - Yaojia · Yangxin Villa, where you can enjoy the beauty of the mountains and fields, as well as savor the local specialties. The short self-driving trip was very rewarding, and my troubled mind relaxed. The villas perched on the mountain cliffs are all independent treehouses. Waking up in the sea of clouds deep in the primeval forest, opening the window reveals a vista of greenery. In this small villa, you can see the glow of sunrise, the evening glow of sunset, and the stars that are invisible in the city. I had the good fortune to have a tea and chat with the owner, who turned out to be a hermit of high esteem. The owner is one of the older generation of designers and architects in the country, and he personally designed and built the houses here. The placement of each stone, the position of each tree, are all his hands-on creations. During our casual conversation, it was astonishing to learn that the land where the restaurant now stands was originally the home of Peppa Pig. With the owner's ingenious ideas, the restaurant retained the pigsty's roof, and after overall refurbishment and construction, it became the warm and poetic restaurant it is today. Speaking of the restaurant, I must praise the unexpectedly delicious food they serve, with vegetables grown by themselves and free-range chickens raised on their own farm, the taste is simply too delightful!! In addition to the beautiful scenery and food, the homestay's facilities are also very complete, with hot springs, swimming pools, camping, barbecue fire pits... Set aside the restless thoughts, immerse yourself in the laughter, and feel the indifferent freedom of nature.
