Chimelong Penguin Hotel in Zhuhai||We went to Chimelong towards the end of the May Day holiday, hoping to avoid the peak tourist flow of the holiday, but as soon as we arrived at the hotel and started the check-in process, we realized how naive that thought was. The lobby was packed with people, and we had to queue up. The check-in process itself is simple, it's just the queuing that's a bit of a hassle🤷🏻‍♂️ 1. If the timing is right, I suggest arriving at the hotel after 2 p.m., as by then the departing guests have mostly left, and the lobby is no longer bustling. Plus, the check-in time is at 2 p.m. anyway. We tried to check in at around noon, but we couldn't actually enter the room since they were not yet cleaned, but luggage storage was convenient. 2. I must say, the hotel is really big, like a standalone little castle, with many souvenir shops, making it convenient to buy memorabilia and such. The hotel rooms and facilities are not up to five-star standards, but they are colorful and full of childlike fun, which kids will like. There are things like barricades and small single beds available. 3. The hotel's buffet restaurant can accommodate thousands of people dining at the same time, and you can watch penguins while eating. Although the dining environment is a bit noisy, the variety of food is extremely rich, including Chinese and Western cuisine, seafood, and barbecue. It's not exquisite, but the overall taste is decent. The fact that it can accommodate so many people dining at the same time is impressive, and everything is replenished very promptly. There's also a discount for purchasing meal vouchers a day in advance. 4. The hotel provides direct access to the park, and guests can enter the park one hour earlier. This early entry didn't make much of a difference to us since we weren't there for the rides, but after watching the fireworks show at night and seeing the throngs of people at the entrance, the convenience of the park hotel became apparent. We bought tickets for two park entries, so if you're going twice, staying at a park hotel is convenient.
