Tengger Desert: Experience the vastness and magnificence of the desert

In July 2021, we drove to Zhongwei for a summer vacation. As the trip was decided in a hurry, we didn't book the Desert Star Hotel. 😭 On the first night, we camped in the desert. ⛺️ The conditions were limited, so we stayed at the Zhongwei Jinshahai Train Theme Hotel next, where we could take a shower and enjoy the air conditioning. 😂 Located in the heart of the Tengger Desert in Zhongwei, this is a tourist destination that combines a unique accommodation experience with desert scenery. The hotel is transformed from a steam locomotive on the Baolan Railway, the first desert railway in China built in 1958. The old carriages have been given new life and become a unique hotel. It has both the nostalgic charm of a green train and modern comfort facilities, providing visitors with a wonderful experience of traveling through time and space. We stayed for two nights and chose two different room types. The train hotel has a small space. Staying here, you can not only experience the vastness and magnificence of the desert, but also enjoy a variety of desert activities. Hotel guests can enjoy a 50% discount on desert activities, such as camel riding, desert off-road vehicles, sand sliding, etc., which are exciting and fun. We tried all the desert activities. 🤭 It rained suddenly when we were on the surfing car, which made it even more exciting. It had rained several times during our stay. The driver of the surfing car told us that it hadn't rained for more than two months, so it was lucky to see rain in the desert. However, the dark clouds soon drifted away. We enjoyed a desert dinner at the hotel. In the evening, the desert sunset dyed the sky golden, which was spectacular!
