Hotel Review | A Laid-back Weekend at Le Meridien Zhongshan Poly Le Meridien Zhongshan Poly Booked the Deluxe King Room RMB606 Working is really too hard! I decided during the busy workdays last week that I needed to spend the weekend in Zhongshan indulging in food and drinks, desperately needing something to look forward to and to alleviate the pain of working (woman shaking head emoji) Among the Marriott hotels in Zhongshan, there are Le Meridien, Lihe Westin, and Sheraton. Adhering to the principle of staying at new rather than old places, Sheraton was not considered. I hope to have the chance to stay at the Westin in the ancient town next time. The hotel is surrounded by shopping areas, with a wetland park across the street, making its location feel quite bustling. The lobby has Le Meridien girls and unicorns for photo ops, and overall, it seems well-maintained. The summer is really crowded; I arrived at 5:30 pm to check in and encountered a group check-in, which meant waiting in line for a while, but the front desk staff were still nice. The room was on the 10th floor, but no matter where you stay, the floor-to-ceiling windows only offer a city view, and the night view is just so-so. There were 2 drink vouchers in the room, redeemable for coffee or juice on the first floor. What was pleasantly surprising was that the 45-square-meter basic room came with a bathtub, and taking a bath at night really increased my happiness! However, the breakfast the next day was a bit disappointing. When I went at 9:30 am, I had to wait for a seat and was seated in a small corner surrounded by lots of noisy kids! Next time, I'll have to get up earlier to sit by the window (bragging a bit)! Walking in, I was greeted by a pink Eiffel Tower, and the overall decor was quite French. Other than the rice noodle rolls being quite special, the rest of the food was not very tasty. The hotel's pool looked cool, but after breakfast, I went back to my room and fell into a deep sleep, missing out on my weekly exercise goal (woman sighing emoji)
