Zhao'an - Jinlian Temple

Jinlian Temple is located on the south side of the west gate of Zhao'an County, Fujian Province. It was first built in the Tang Dynasty and has a long history. The temple was originally named "Xianshui Nunnery." Later, because the temple was surrounded by mountains, it looked like a lotus flower. The morning glow shone on the top of the mountain, looking like a golden lotus in full bloom, so it was renamed Jinlian Temple. The temple's buildings include a Buddha hall, dormitory, kitchen, etc., with a total area of about 200 square meters. Over time, the temple's infrastructure has been improved, with the addition of a wind and rain pavilion, incense burner pavilion, courtyard gate, and wall, as well as a leisure area in the courtyard. In addition, the temple also enshrines the Three Treasures Buddhas, the Eighteen Arhats, the Twenty-four Gods, and the Bell Bodhisattva. Jinlian Temple is well-known locally and attracts many believers every year. The temple is surrounded by beautiful scenery, with mountain paths through the primeval forest, and attractions such as the Straw Sandal Bridge and the Walking Stick Bridge along the way, attracting tourists to stop and admire.
