Zhoucun Dongyue Temple in Zezhou County, Shanxi

The exact year of its establishment is unverifiable, but according to inscriptions within the temple, it has undergone renovations during the years of Song Dynasty's Yuanfeng fifth year (1083), Ming Dynasty's Xuande second year (1427), Ming Dynasty's Longqing fourth year (1570), Ming Dynasty's Wanli thirteenth year (1585), Qing Dynasty's Kangxi twenty-first year (1682), and during the Republic of China period. The foundation stones share similarities, reflecting the local characteristics of southeast Shanxi. The combination of Xieshan and Xuanshan roof styles in the Wealth God Hall and Dragon King Hall is rare. The attached components and bracket sets are exquisitely and delicately carved. According to local villagers, there are now two opera stages on each side of the current opera stage, forming a '品' shape, which is quite unique.
