Museum of Stranger Things?

As I was taking a flight from Kagoshima airport, I made a point to visit the Kirishima Museum which is on route to my hotel. The artworks were not what I expected but definitely interesting to see. The entrance welcomes you with a large Yayoi Kusama flower in bright colors, and there is a second piece by her after entering the museum. The main museum building holds paintings of surprising subjects which change regularly. There are also many large size art works placed outdoor and you will need to follow the map to look for them - some were hidden in the wood and require a bit of effort to find. I don’t want to spoil the fun, but it is quite different from all the museums that I have visited. Once you have seen everything, you will understand why it is located there. It will all make sense! The museum is opened from 9-530pm, and entrance fee is only ¥320 for adults and 230/150 for high school and primary students. While there is a bus that goes to the museum , it is really easier if you have a car. The road is quite straightforward and the museum is easy to find. There is a cafe at the museum but it closes 30 minutes before actual museum closing. The nearest pizza place closes at 530 also so I would suggest to eat before your visit. #kyushu #kirishima #museums #japantravel
