There were no noisy tourists, no commercial atmosphere, only bluestone roads, ancient bridges, flowing water, and mottled walls, telling the vicissitudes of time. In the depths of the ancient town, I met an old lady sitting in front of her house, holding a needle and thread, sewing traditional cloth shoes.
