| Baisha Ancient Town. ◾️Baisha Ancient Town is located about 10 kilometers north of Lijiang Old Town, bordered by Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to the north, Longquan to the south, and Zhishan to the west. It is the ancient capital of the Naxi people and a world-class 'Ancient Naxi Kingdom.' The ancient town is very close to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and you can see the snow mountain just by looking up in the town. It is the closest ancient town to the snow mountain. ◾️There used to be a saying: Baisha is what Shuhe was ten years ago, and Shuhe is what Lijiang was ten years ago. Baisha Ancient Town is an important part of Lijiang Old Town, the most Naxi-style ancient town, and the most original Naxi village, a town that resembles Lijiang more than Lijiang itself. ◾️Baisha Ancient Town still has many original residents. There are many Naxi people here who have retained the original lifestyle of Lijiang people and the original Dongba culture. It is the least commercialized ancient town in Lijiang. The place is not big, and half a day is enough to stroll around slowly. ◾️The souvenir shops in the town mainly sell two things: tie-dye and various antique replicas. Copper utensils are indispensable daily necessities for Naxi families, and copper craftsmanship is a traditional skill of the Naxi people, which has always been very developed. Tie-dye best reflects Naxi culture. Almost every household here sells tie-dye items, and there are a few shops that can customize them.
