A day without going to a hot spring and soaking in the hot spring

When I think of Yufuin, the first thing that comes to mind is its hot springs, but this time, I deliberately set them aside and focused solely on exploring the town. Thanks to this, I discovered another charm of my trip. Getting off at the small station, I began walking, and a charming street lined with shops unfolded before me. Each alley exuded a uniquely Japanese warmth. The aroma of freshly baked sweet bean buns wafted from bakeries, and the roasted aroma of coffee beans wafted from cafes. The soft-serve ice cream being carried by travelers looked so delicious that I bought some. The cool sweetness blended beautifully with the crisp mountain air. Walking a little further in, I came across a series of small workshops and general stores. The handmade ceramics and wooden items were simple yet imbued with a sense of sincerity. Walking slowly, I felt as if I were strolling through a fairytale village. At the end of the street, I looked up and saw the mountainside unfolding before me like a painting. I stood there for a while, lost in thought, thinking that this was the essence of Yufuin's tranquil charm. Even without a hot spring, the town itself felt like a place of relaxation. 👉 Yufuin could be a memorable destination, even without the hot springs.
