In just one day, you can travel back to that ancient time. In the morning, let's start our adventure from the Yongzhou Museum. Here, you can have a preliminary understanding of the local conditions and customs of Yongzhou. Afterwards, we went to the Red Sun Hotel on Xiaoshui Middle Road and took bus No. 13, passing by landmarks full of stories along the way: Lingling Tower rebuilt in the 1980s, and the historic Lingling Dongfeng Bridge. Get off at the Liu Zongyuan Cultural Tourism Area. If you are lucky, the floating bridge on the south side of the bridge has been repaired, then we can get off at the Fourth People's Hospital of the City in advance and walk along the Xiaoshui River to the "Xia Ke Ferry". It only costs one yuan to easily reach the other side. Next, let's stroll westward along Liuzi Street. The shops along the way seem to be telling the prosperity of the Ming, Qing and Republic of China periods. Soon, you will be attracted by the tall walls of Liuzi Temple, which stands there quietly, waiting for your arrival. This is not only a 10-kilometer hike, but also a cultural journey through time and space. Are you ready? We will follow Liuzi Street and head west until we reach the ancient stone tablet - the Cobalt Pond Stone Tablet, marking our official entry into the world of the Three Records of Yuxi written by Liu Zongyuan. Imagine that those ancient words seem to tell you a thousand-year story. Let's go and see Yuxi first. Oh, by the way, they have blown up the dam, dredged the river, and laid trails on both sides of the river bank. Yuxi is now full of new vitality. Walking along the stream, you will find some special landmarks: Cobalt Pond, West Hill, Little Stone Pond, each place has its own unique story. Listen, is there the sound of a waterfall? Don't worry, follow the sound, and you can see the stone building of the Qing Dynasty - the Filial Piety Pavilion. This was once an important post station for Yongzhou to go west. Now, you can rest here and have a cup of tea. Next, we return to the old stele of Xiaoshitan and cross the boulder to the other side. Heading east, you will see a visitor center where you can refill your kettle and continue your journey. Walk across Liuzi Bridge and return to Liuzi Street, then jump on bus No. 13 or No. 31 to the terminus of the Technical College. After getting off the bus, you will arrive at Chaoyang Park, where Chaoyang Rock is waiting for you to explore. At about noon, we came out of the park and walked 50 meters north to the Yangzitang Ferry. Take a boat across the river to Taipingmen Wharf. Walk along the riverside and through the old residential area to the lively Zhongshan South Road intersection, where there are many snacks near the Dapingmen bus stop to satisfy your taste buds. After eating and drinking, we continued to walk north, turned into Dongmenling Road, and headed straight for Yongzhou No. 5 Middle School. You will find the Confucian Temple there, and further east, you will find the Martial Temple and the back door of Gaoshan Temple. Between the two buildings, there is a 100-step hiking trail that takes you to the west gate of Dongshan. Finally, following Dongshan Road to the north, you will pass the former site of the mental hospital, where there is a five-cornered pavilion and the Huaisu Thousand Characters Stele. Go down the stone steps and through the vegetable garden to Huaisu Park. There are banana trees planted there, and it is said that Huaisu practiced calligraphy on these banana leaves when he was a child.
