Pujiu Temple

Pujiu Temple is located on the Emei Yuan Head in the northwest of Yongji City, with Zhongtiao Mountain to the south and the Yellow River Bay to the west. It was built during the reign of Empress Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty and was originally named Xiyongqing Temple. It is a Buddhist temple. The buildings in the temple are well-arranged, surrounded by red walls and green trees. The Shari Tower is famous for the love story of Zhang Sheng and Cui Yingying in "The Romance of the West Chamber" and is called "Yingying Tower." This tower is not only an architectural treasure but also has a unique acoustic effect called "frog croak." When you tap the stone in front of the tower, it sounds like a frog croaking. Pujiu Temple witnessed the love story of Zhang Sheng and Cui Yingying, who broke through the shackles of feudal ethics and made a lifelong commitment here. When spring comes, the peach blossoms in the temple are in full bloom, as if they are still telling the love story of a thousand years.
