There are two "national treasure" stone brick archways on the ancient village path, surrounded by fruit trees and rice fields

On the ancient path to the west of Dongyao Wen Village in Yongji City, Shanxi Province, two brick and stone archways from the Ming and Qing dynasties stand opposite each other, towering and majestic, solemn and dignified. In 2019, they were announced as the eighth batch of "national treasures". Despite being weathered for hundreds of years, the carving art on the archways is still visible, with fruit tree farms all around. 🌈Highlights: ✅Stone Archway: Built in the first year of Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty (1628), to honor the wife of Wang Jinzhi from Puzhou, Mrs. Zhang. It has a three-bay, four-pillar, five-story pavilion roof structure, with an overall width and height of about 10 meters, and a depth of 2.7 meters, composed of more than 80 pieces of bluestone. The base stones and column-holding stones are carved with playful young lions. Under the eaves of the archway, there are seventeen sets of imitation wood structure brackets, and the beams and sparrow braces are adorned with high-relief auspicious patterns of immortals, birds, and beasts. Although severely weathered, the details are still clear. ✅Brick Archway: Built in the 40th year of Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1775), to honor the wife of the late Imperial Scholar Meng Tingzhi, Mrs. Wang. It has a four-pillar, three-bay structure, with a grand scale, similar height and width of about 13 meters, and a depth of 2.7 meters.
