Heaven’s Light @Goa Jomblang

Location - About 1.5 hours drive east of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Getting There - 2 ways of doing it; either hiring a personal driver or joining a tour. If you’re a solo traveler, this may be a little pricey for hiring a private driver but if sharing with multiple people, it can be a cheap option. Attractions - Ever experienced rappelling down 60meters under the earth and mud-trekking 25minutes into a cave?😆 Well, you will in this Goa Jomblang expedition searching for the magnificent beams of light from the above. Will leave you speechless for sure😄 *Notes to be taken: there is a limit of 80 people to take part in the expedition per day, so be there as early as it’s on first come first serve basis. Also do not wear your best clothes for this tour, you won’t wanna get them ruined due to the mud and prepare dry bag for personal belongings storage. Happy travel peeps!🤗 #travellater #travelinspiration #travelphotography #travelwithgeo #wanderlust #jomblangcave #yogyakarta #indonesia

Jomblang Cave

Getting There - Jogja, one of my bucket list . Wanted to do this before Covid And due to Covid , I have waited three years . Once travel reopen to Indonesia , I planned my three weeks long trip to Indonesia to clear some of my bucket list . Attractions - amazing experience, once in a life time experience. so exciting. Went down to the cave by ropes and 20 peoples to pull you up . Hotels - lots of affordable hotel to choose from . I stay in youth hostel and around 15 SGD per night with clean room . Food & Restaurants - lots of food to choose from. Foods are cheap and affordable . Shopping - Plenty of traditional things to choose from . Amazing people around , very cheap .

🌌 Into the Depths of Jomblang Cave 🌌 Exploring Jomblang Cave was one of the most unforgettable adventures of my trip to Yogyakarta. To reach the cave, I had to descend about 60 meters down into a massive sinkhole — a little scary at first, but so thrilling! ⛓️✨ Once inside, the highlight was seeing the famous “heavenly light” streaming through the cave’s opening. 🌞 A dramatic ray of sunlight pierced the darkness, lighting up the ancient forest floor inside the cave. It felt surreal, almost otherworldly. Mud on my shoes, adrenaline in my veins, and awe in my heart — Jomblang is truly a natural wonder you have to experience at least once. 🌿💎 📍 Jomblang Cave, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta #Tripcom #TravelWithTrip #JomblangCave #Yogyakarta #IndonesiaTravel #Gunungkidul #Adventure

Jomblang Cave

Journey Through Yogyakarta’s Nature Wonders 🌊🏔️🌌 Embark on a memoriably mesmerizing adventure—get your adrenaline rushing at Timang Beach, marvel at the volcanic horizons at Gerbang Merapi Mountain View, and experience the ethereal “Heaven’s Light” in Jomblang Cave! Jomblang Cave (Semanu): Cap off with spelunking in Jomblang Cave—the descent is dramatic, but the reward is the radiant “Heaven’s Light” beaming through the cavern. Must-do: Join the guided tour for safe rappelling and catch the magical light pillar (best between 10 AM–12 PM). Photo spot: At the bottom, face up where the shafts illuminate the fog. Precaution: Wear proper boots—mud can get thick! Gerbang Merapi Mountain View (Cangkringan): Drive to Gerbang Merapi for surreal volcano vistas and misty hills. Must-do: Walk the viewpoints at sunrise for golden hour shots of Mount Merapi—bring a wide-angle lens! Tip: Weather can change fast up high, so pack a light jacket and check local volcanic activity updates. Timang Beach (Tepus): Start with the wild sea vibes—ride the famous gondola over crashing waves for a heart-stopping thrill! Must-do: Snap a panoramic shot from the rope bridge—totally insta-worthy, with dramatic cliffs in the backdrop. Practical tip: Arrive early (around 8 AM) for soft lighting and fewer crowds. Precaution: The gondola can be scary—double-check safety harnesses, and avoid rainy days as the rocks get slippery. Address: Jl. Pantai Sel. Jawa, Purwodadi, Tepus, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. Opening: 08:00-17:00. #Yogyakarta #NatureEscape #Tepus #Cangkringan #Semanu
