Hidden Historical Mosque in Yogyakarta — Masjid Gedhe Mataram Kotagede

During this trip to Yogyakarta, I unexpectedly visited a mosque full of history — Masjid Gedhe Mataram Kotagede. This mosque is several hundred years old, blending Javanese and Islamic architectural styles. Compared to typical mosques, the atmosphere here is much more serene. When we visited, the weather was hot, but inside the mosque it was very cool, surrounded by greenery. This is not a popular tourist spot, so there were few visitors, making it ideal for travelers who enjoy exploring history and culture.
