Check out the Yogyakarta version of Huaqing Pool

Yogyakarta, once the capital of the Sultanate, has many historical sites. It feels very much like Xi'an in Indonesia, and the water palace in the city is comparable to Huaqing Pool, definitely worth a visit. 🕍＞ Taman Sari The water palace is called Taman Sari in Indonesian. It was originally built for multiple purposes. It is said that the Sultan hired a Portuguese architect to construct this exquisite resort villa to keep his leisure and entertainment space private. The water palace was once a luxurious entertainment park of the royal palace and also served as the swimming pool and waterways for the Sultan and his entourage. The Sultan would throw a rose from the tower on the south side of the pool, and the concubine who caught the rose would become his "wife." In other words, whoever caught the rose would become the Sultan's queen or concubine. The water palace was initially damaged during the Diponegoro Java War and was later completely destroyed by the earthquake in 1865. Most of what you see today are ruins from the past. The bathhouse has been rebuilt, and the tunnels and underground mosque are quite special. The water palace is actually very small and can be fully explored in half an hour.
