The land of heritage, Jogja is gorgeous

Yogyakarta or fondly known as Jogja is located in the Java Island, Indonesia. It is home to many UNESCO sites , offering great mix of culture, heritage and pure beauty. I get to stay at Pesonna Maliboro Hotel for 3 nights. It was a decent hotel, clean, fair priced and has good access to places. I decided to go to Jogja because I watched that movie "Ada apa dengan cinta 2", the film was beautifully shot and i wanted to visit all the prominent places in the movie. so here goes. 1. Gereja Ayam (Chicken Church) - It is an abandoned old church in a forest about 45km from Jogja. I was there for the pic! 2. Sellie Coffee shop- It is when Cinta confronted Rangga. "kamu jahat, rangga!" it is a small establishment. 3. Klinik Kopi - artisan coffee establishment and they sell coffee beans from aroubd the world. the smell was soo divine 4. Istana Ratu Boko - a castle ruin that looks gorgeous in the sunset so picturesque. 5. Pappermoon Puppet Theatre..i have never seen a puppet show and this is both traditional, unique and a great experience#nationalpark 6. Candi Borobudur it is located about 40 mins from Jogja, is one of wonders of the world. it is so majestic huge what a sight. It the largest Buddisht temple in the world and obviously a prominent heritage site. Tips: To make your trip easier, book a trip with tour agency or rent a car. it is not easy to get around, public transport is limited especially if you really want to visit specific places based on a movie.#

Borobudur Temple

Borobudur Temple Compounds This famous Buddhist temple, dating from the 8th and 9th centuries, is located in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. 1 Hour distance from yogyakarta city. It was built in three tiers: a pyramidal base with five concentric square terraces, the trunk of a cone with three circular platforms and, at the top, a monumental stupa. The walls and balustrades are decorated with fine low reliefs, covering a total surface area of 2,500 m2. Around the circular platforms are 72 openwork stupas, each containing a statue of the Buddha. The monument was restored with UNESCO's help in the 1970s. The Borobudur sunrise is best from the Manohara hotel. The entry fee is 450k IDR per person, but it is worthy. The ticket also includes a buffet breakfast and a souvenir. The sunrise from the top of the temple oversees a huge valley though it was nothing like pictures I had seen. The sun rises early in Indonesia and you must reach the temple by 5 AM. I got a cloudy sky on the day and the sun was seen only at 6 30 AM. It gets hot every minute after 7 AM so you must finish the temple walk quickly. #bucketlistreboot #passionpassport #gooutside #campingglamping #urbanexplorer #nationalpark #urbanexplorer #themepark

Prambanan Temple

Traveling in the Candi Prambanan was really an experience as it gave me a treasured expereince of visiting a UNESCO world heritage site that feature Indonesian. Hindus culture and architecture. Definitely a must see in Yogyakarta. The location of this temple is approximately 30 minutes from the city center. Entrance fee is US$ 18 for adult foreigner. Half for foreign student showing their student card. Local tourist is much cheaper. The site is particularly impressive during the full moon time, seen from the other site. The site where we watch the Ramayana ballet. With special lighting, the Candis is beautifully back dropping the dance, through out. Srakung Beach is one of the beaches in Gunungkidul that has not been visited by many. Of course, this beach is still beautiful and natural. Srakung Beach is located in Pucung Village, Girisubo District, Gunungkidul Regency, DIY. The location of this beach is in the same direction as Sadeng Beach. So if you go to Srakung Beach, you can also go to Sadeng Beach. From the center of Yogyakarta can be taken approximately two to two and a half hours drive. Because the location of Srakung Beach is at the eastern end of Gunungkidul and almost borders Pacitan. #lakes #themeparks #nationalpark #beaches #triplocal #themepark#zoo#nationalpark#lakes#beaches

There is a waterfall tourist area that is very unique and will not run out of water even though it is in the dry season in the Gunungkidul area of Yogyakarta. Moreover, the surrounding cliffs provide a special atmosphere and a very unique name, namely Luweng Sampang Waterfall. This beautiful waterfall is also ready to pamper its visitors. #triplocal #lakes #themeparks #nationalpark #themepark#zoo#nationalpark#lakes#beaches

the site of the former palace garden or palace garden of the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace, which can be compared to Taman Sari Surakarta and the Bogor Botanical Gardens as the gardens of the Bogor Palace. This garden was built during the time of Sultan Hamengku Buwono I (HB I) in 1758-1765/9. Initially, the garden which was nicknamed "The Fragrant Garden" has an area of more than 10 hectares with around 57 buildings in the form of buildings, bathing pools, suspension bridges, water canals, and artificial lakes along with artificial islands and underwater passages. The garden, which was used effectively between 1765-1812, originally stretched from the southwest of the Kedhaton complex to the southeast of the Magangan complex. But at this time, the only remnants of the Taman Sari that can be seen are those in the southwest of the Kedhaton complex. It is said that Taman Sari was built in the former palace of the old, Pesanggrahan Garjitawati, which was founded by Susuhunan Paku Buwono II as a resting place for horse-drawn carriages that would go to Imogiri. As the head of the Taman Sari development project, Tumenggung Mangundipuro was appointed. All development costs were borne by the Regent of Madiun, Tumenggung Prawirosentiko, and all his people. Therefore the Madiun area is exempt from tax collection. In the midst of construction the project leadership was taken over by Prince Notokusumo, after Mangundipuro resigned. Although officially a royal garden, some of the existing buildings indicate that Taman Sari served as the last bastion of defense if the palace was attacked by the enemy. It is said that one of the architects of this royal garden was a Portuguese better known as Demang Tegis. #nationalpark #themeparks #triplocal #lakes #tamansari #themepark#zoo#nationalpark#lakes#beaches
