A 3-day itinerary guide for Shangrao, a hidden gem beyond Wuyuan

What kind of Shangrao have you seen? Is it the 'First Fairy Peak in the South of the Yangtze River' - Sanqing Mountain? Or the 'Unparalleled Mountain Range' - Turtle Peak? Is it Qianshan, which embraced the bold poet Xin Qiji, or Yiyang, which nurtured the revolutionary Fang Zhimin? Or perhaps, you only know Wuyuan, the 'Most Beautiful Village in China'. In March, the rapeseed flowers are in full bloom. On the high-speed train from north to south, when passing Wuyuan, it seems that everyone on the train has disembarked. Everyone is chasing after spring, while I, am seeking tranquility at the next stop after Wuyuan. This is my third visit to Shangrao. This time, beyond Wuyuan, I discovered a new Shangrao. Traveling in Shangrao Transportation in Shangrao is very convenient, with high-speed trains connecting to all parts of the country. Sanqing Mountain Airport is a short distance from the city, very convenient, although there are currently few flights. It is recommended to rent a car for self-driving after arriving in Shangrao. Itinerary Details D1️⃣ Turtle Peak ➡️ Nanyan Temple ➡️ Literary Village ✅Turtle Peak (5h) Upon arriving at Turtle Peak, I was surprised to find that this place, which once left a 3,000-word travel note by the ancestor, is now a World Geopark and a National 5A Scenic Area. It is surprisingly peaceful when the neighboring Wuyuan is crowded. ✅Nanyan Temple (2h) In the warm and humid south of the Yangtze River, the back wall of the natural cave houses a Buddhist statue group that has been preserved for over 800 years. The natural world and Nanyan Grottoes flow through their own time and space for thousands of years. Literary Village (overnight stay) The Literary Village near Turtle Peak Scenic Area is a newly renovated literary-themed village. The village has writer apartments and affordable homestays. D2️⃣ Shaxi Town ➡️ Zaotou Town ✅Shaxi Town (2h) Walking into the old street of Shaxi. Strolling through the ancient street, you can understand the stories of the old times without exploring. The old street is located at the junction of three counties and five prefectures. In the 'Jiangyou Travel Diary' by the traveler ancestor Xu Xiake, 'Shaxi market is very prosperous, with more than a hundred small boats on the river, and the sound of water pounding on the banks is endless...' ✅Zaotou Town Sanlian Village (4h) A mural village, the outer walls of the houses depict fairy tales of farming and reading; the village walls depict a world of innocence. There is no big tree to shade at the entrance of the village, but there is a mural wall. The high-speed train passing through the green land seems to indicate that this village is ready to welcome the outside world. D3️⃣ Damao Mountain ➡️ Rainbow Fairy Tale Village ✅Damao Mountain (5h) Surrounded by Sanqing Mountain, Longhu Mountain, Wuyuan, and Jingdezhen, Damao Mountain is a hidden forest secret realm standing side by side with Sanqing Mountain.
