Healing hot springs amidst vast bamboo forests. Last weekend, I stayed overnight at Yuzizai Bamboo Sea Resort in Yixing and enjoyed a wonderful, exquisite vacation experience. The resort is located less than 500m from the Bamboo Sea scenic area, with bamboo groves and trees surrounding it, making it quiet and secluded. To reach the hotel entrance, you need to walk along a forest path. After a few winding turns, the lattice structure hidden among the trees and the signature golf carts appear before you. The hotel's outer courtyard is a garden, with wabi-sabi style tatami grass houses and outdoor hot spring pools on the inner side. Entering the lobby, you'll see three staggered lotus-shaped sculptures with flowing water in the central courtyard. Steam from the outdoor clear pool creates a misty effect through the window screens. The black and gold color scheme with dim lighting gives everywhere—from the scenic tea room to the reception lounge and aesthetic display area—an elegant, high-end feel. The restaurant beside the lobby also serves as the breakfast area, with private dining rooms inside for Chinese cuisine. The resort prepared a luxurious welcome dinner for me, featuring local specialties. The braised pork was particularly excellent, befitting a place once visited by Su Dongpo. After the hearty meal, I strolled through the inner courtyard, where a classical-style bar sits at the end of a candle-lit corridor. The outdoor swimming pool under square lamps reflects tree shadows, while the secluded indoor stone soaking pool offers perfect relaxation.
