Mingchi

This trip was originally planned for Taipingshan, with the hope of standing atop the majestic mountain to overlook the sea of clouds and walking through the cypress forest trails to experience the grandeur of nature. However, due to a landslide blocking the road, plans had to be changed last minute to visit Mingchi instead. Naturally, there was a sense of disappointment, feeling that the itinerary had lost its highlight. Unexpectedly, Mingchi offered a different kind of solace to travelers. Staying at Mingchi Villa, the rooms were simple yet clean, with a view of lush greenery right outside the window. It lacked the vast and spectacular scenery of Taipingshan but exuded a "small yet beautiful" tranquility. At night, free from the interference of city lights, the sky was filled with stars, and the silence was only broken by the sound of insects chirping. Walking by the lakeside, the surface of Mingchi Lake reflected layers of green forest, occasionally shrouded in mist, creating a serene and ethereal atmosphere. This ambiance was entirely different from the awe-inspiring feeling of Taipingshan, yet equally moving. Meals were prepared with local ingredients, featuring warm soups and simple side dishes that, while not particularly stunning, offered a comforting sense of care and warmth. Taipingshan evokes a sense of grandeur and awe, while Mingchi provides a tranquil and soothing experience. Although the original plan was disrupted, it unexpectedly brought a quiet and beautiful reward. 🍃 Some landscapes are not part of the plan, yet they find a way into your heart.
