The dividing line between Europe and Asia for the Slavic people

Every city has its own history and culture, and traveling is about appreciating and savoring its unique mark. Under the order of Peter the Great, when the Ural region was developed in 1723, the city planners and designers of Yekaterinburg were Vasily Tatishchev and Georg Wilhelm de Gennin. Tatishchev was the first Russian historian and a famous geographer at the time, and de Gennin was a famous metallurgist in 18th-century Russia. To commemorate Peter the Great's wife, Empress Catherine I, de Gennin suggested naming the city after Catherine. However, it was not until 1998, during the 275th anniversary of the founding of Yekaterinburg, that a monument to the founders of Yekaterinburg was erected next to the water tower on the left bank of the Iset River. The Europe-Asia Boundary Obelisk is located on the border between Europe and Asia in Yekaterinburg, Russia. It is a must-visit place for every tourist coming to Yekaterinburg. Located 42 km northwest of Yekaterinburg, the entire obelisk is made of marble. The Russian words for "Asia" and "Europe" are distributed on both sides of the base. The obelisk column is made of dark red marble, and the top is decorated with a double-headed eagle symbol, which looks vigorous and solemn, making our journey across Eurasia even more extraordinary. In addition to interacting with people, the beautiful scenery along the way also made us linger. The most memorable is the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, which is said to have been built in memory of the tragic death of the last Tsar. Under the blood-red setting sun, the "onion domes" look even more tragically beautiful.
