Yazd Old Town.

Yazd Old Town is home to traditional houses, mosques, synagogues, Jewish temples, and historic gardens. The most famous is the Dolat Abad Garden, which has a 33-meter wind tower, the tallest in Iran (Fig. 1). The alleys of the old town are winding and crisscrossed, with more than 2,000 buildings made of gray-yellow bricks and mud from the Qajar dynasty, some of which have been inhabited for as long as 7,000 years. It is recognized by UNESCO as one of the "oldest cities in the world." The clock tower is the geographical center of Iran (Fig. 9).

Yazd is a jewel in the desert with unique Persian architecture and is nicknamed the "City of Wind Catchers" because of the pretty wind catchers that surround the city. It is also very famous for its Zoroastrian fire temple, cisterns, underground canals, refrigeration plants, Persian handicrafts, hand-woven clothing, silk weaving, candyfloss and its time-honoured confectioneries. The city is probably one of the oldest cities in the world, see you next time Yazd #iran#travel
