Legend has it that Taiping Temple was first built in the Jin Dynasty, 800 years ago. It is a Quanzhen Taoist temple that combines Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. The biggest feature of Taiping Temple is the combination of the three religions: the main hall of the temple enshrines the ancestors of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, which is extremely rare in China. Quanzhen Taoism advocates the combination of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, believing that the three religions have the same origin in their social role of guiding people to be good, so the various sects should not be separated. After being restored and opened in 1993, Taiping Temple was designated as the earliest religious activity site in Yantai City, with several Taoists living in the temple all year round. On July 5, 2014, Taiping Temple was officially renamed Taiping Temple.
