Two-day trip to Yangzhou: This city is full of surprises!

It's easy to get from the high-speed rail station to Yangzhou East Station. Although there is no subway, there are many tourist bus lines, so getting around is not a problem. I chose to stay between Dongguan Street and Slender West Lake, which is a great location. It's next to Siwang Pavilion, so it's convenient to go anywhere. However, the room is a bit small, and the air conditioning in winter is a bit stuffy, so I didn't sleep well. Anyway, I stayed here for convenience, so everything else is fine. As soon as I arrived in Yangzhou, I went to Yiyuan for lunch, and then walked directly to Slender West Lake. The scenery along the way is really beautiful, and the Red Bridge area is particularly nice. The ticket for Slender West Lake is CNY 60. Although it was the off-season, the scenic area is quite large. Most people enter from the south gate and exit from the north gate. It took me about 3 hours to walk through it, and the scenery is really good. It's totally worth the ticket price. After leaving Slender West Lake, I went to Caiyi Street, Dongguan Street, and Pishi Street. These three streets are connected, so you can visit them all at once. Most of the old streets are like this now, selling similar things, such as snacks and cultural and creative products, which seem to be made according to a template. Although it's a bit repetitive, it's also suitable for casual shopping and buying some small items. I had dinner at Xiangyuan, which was quite to my taste. It wasn't as greasy as some places, so it was quite comfortable to eat. After dinner, I went back to the hotel to rest and prepared to continue playing the next day. I went to Geyuan in the morning on the second day. To be honest, I don't understand those rockeries. They are said to be designed according to the four seasons, but I just don't feel it. The staff explained it, but I still didn't understand. In comparison, Heyuan is more attractive to me, especially its window frame design, which is quite interesting. Overall, these two gardens have their own characteristics. If I had to choose, I would prefer Heyuan.
