Yangshuo Guilin Eternal Love

DAY 1: Check-in at Langyun Hotel – Yangshuo West Street On July 28th, our group of eight drove from Yulin to Yangshuo, a 3.5-hour journey. We checked into Langyun Garden Hotel (Li River Branch, Yangshuo West Street). The room was booked on the same day for 377 yuan (twin beds), with good cleanliness and environment! The front desk recommended two great places for beer fish: Master Xin and Sister Liu. We chose Master Xin and enjoyed beer fish, bamboo tube chicken soup, stir-fried fresh bamboo shoots, and Chinese broccoli—all delicious and highly recommended! After dinner, we strolled around Yangshuo West Street. I had visited here during my freshman or sophomore year, about 15-16 years ago. The changes were huge—the streets were much cleaner, and there was so much more to see. DAY 2: Ten-Mile Gallery – Guilin Eternal Love – Sun and Moon Pagodas In the morning, we drove through the Ten-Mile Gallery. The name sounds poetic, and the scenery was all about mountains and rivers. Along the way, there were attractions like Li River cruises, the Big Banyan Tree, and Butterfly Spring, but we skipped them this time to save money. We stopped at a lotus garden by the roadside (5 yuan per person), which provided oil-paper umbrellas as photo props and allowed kids to catch crayfish—they loved it! The lotus flowers were in full bloom, perfect for photos, though the scorching sun was unbearable 🙅‍♀️! For Guilin Eternal Love, the market price was 300/310 yuan, with online tickets starting at 250 yuan. We got ours through the hotel for 198/178 yuan (children over 1.2 meters need full-price tickets). The one-hour show was impressive. The scenic area was small but had additional performances like ethnic flash mobs, throwing embroidered balls, face-changing, and long-spout tea art. In the evening, we checked into Hilton Hampton in downtown Guilin (~350 yuan per room) and dined at nearby Li River Flavor Restaurant—decent, though we originally wanted to try Suiyuan Bistro across the street, but the queue was too long [Facepalm]. We rented shared bikes to visit the Sun and Moon Pagodas, but one of us joked they weren’t as nice as Nanliu River, so we headed back to the hotel [Cry][Cry][Cry]. DAY 3: MixC Mall – Return Trip We woke up naturally, had breakfast at the hotel, and wandered around MixC Mall nearby. The kids played at the amusement area, and we had a simple lunch—Darumaka’s pork belly chicken (not tasty, wouldn’t recommend)—before heading home. Goodbye, Guilin!
