Iwakuni Castle

Address: 3 Chome Yokoyama, Iwakuni, Yamaguchi 741-0081, Japan. Getting there: The ropeway's lower station can be reached in a five minute walk from the Kintaikyo Bridge, while the castle is another five minute walk from the ropeway's upper station. Highlights: The Iwakuni Castle keep is four stories high, and looks out onto the city 200 meters below. The castle has a very interesting history and a beautiful vantage point over Iwakuni city. 😌 Each floor has an exhibit, but mainly it's swords, short swords, and sacrificial swords. Each item has a placard with English and on the walls tells the story of Iwakuni Castle and the feudal lords in the area. For history buffs who like the Sengoku era, you'll see a lot of names you recognize. The view at the top is spectacular, nothing beats it.
