Yamaguchi🇯🇵Ryufukuji Temple

The predecessor of Ryufukuji Temple was the Ouchi family's residence, the Ouchi Clan's residence. The official construction date of Ouchi Jjikan is unknown, but based on documents and excavation results, it was built around the late 15th century during the reign of Ouchi Norihiro. Unlike common ancient castles, Ouchi-no-Kan is a residence modeled after the general's residence. The outside of the residence was defended by walls, earth ramparts and trenches, and only had basic defensive functions. The Ouchi clan rebuilt and expanded the temple many times. For example, during the reign of Ouchi Yoshihiro, Chikuyamakan was built on the north side as a guesthouse for entertaining foreign guests. #2024TravelReview
