The Millennium Ginkgo, the Royal Temple

Mengding Mountain, also known as Meng Mountain, is a transitional area from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Western Sichuan Plain, located between Yucheng District and Mingshan District of Ya'an City, which is known as 'the place where the sky leaks'. The highest peak is Shangqing Peak, with an altitude of 1456 meters. Mengding Mountain is named for its 'misty and drizzly weather', and due to its annual rainfall of over 2000 millimeters, it was historically known as 'the leaking sky of Western Sichuan'. Speaking of Mengding Mountain, we all know a couplet: 'The water in the Yangtze River, the tea on the top of Meng Mountain'. This couplet refers to the 'immortal tea' of Mengding Mountain, which is also known as the 'World Tea Culture Holy Mountain' because it is the birthplace of tea. The Mengding Mountain scenic area consists of two main scenic spots: Meng Mountain and Baizhang Lake, and it is one of the first batch of provincial-level scenic spots in Sichuan. The Tiangai Temple is located on the top of Mengding Mountain, founded during the Han Dynasty and rebuilt in the Song Dynasty. The temple covers an area of 8000 square meters, facing the mountains from afar, surrounded by 12 ancient ginkgo trees that are a thousand years old. In the center is the Ming Dynasty stone pillar hall, where the tea master Wu Lizhen built his hut and planted tea. Inside the hall, there is a full-body seated statue of Master Wu Lizhen, with displays of pictures, texts, and artifacts showing the history of Mengding tea. This place is the best spot for tasting Mengding tea. In front of the temple and behind the hall, there is an ancient stele forest with many inscriptions, among which the 'Great Mengding Mountain of the World' stele is the most famous.
