Xinhua Old Street is a retro spot about 45 minutes by bus from Tainan.

Located about 45 minutes by bus from Tainan Station, Xinhua developed as the gateway to the mountainous region of Tainan during the Japanese colonial period. "Xinhua Old Street" preserves Baroque-style buildings that are over 100 years old. Other historical buildings preserved include the "Street Hall," which is now a restaurant, and the "Xinhua Wude Hall," which was used as a practice hall for kendo and judo during the Japanese colonial period.
