Matsuya Japanese Cuisine - Japanese Donburi in Ximending

On a hot summer evening, the Ximending shopping district was packed with tourists. I casually chose Matsuya, a Japanese donburi specialty store that has been open in Taiwan for several years. The restaurant operates on a self-service ordering system; you find a seat before placing your order. The donburi mainly features beef and pork, with various combinations and portions to choose from. Prices range from one hundred to two hundred dollars. In short, it's the concept of a quick meal. The ingredients are average, and if the taste isn't enough, you can add shichimi (seven-flavor chili pepper) or sauce to enhance it. It's filling – and the tofu and kimchi are great for stimulating the appetite in summer!
