Hulishan Fortress in Xiamen, China

Hulishan Fortress is located on the Hulishan coast in Xiamen, southern Fujian Province, China. The construction of this fortress began in 1891 during the Qing Dynasty and took five years to complete. Several cannons from that era still remain. One of the most famous cannons is a 28cm caliber, 13.96m long cannon with a range of about 16km, which was purchased from the German company Krupp. Near the fortress, there is the Xiamen Glory Treasure Museum, which houses five exhibition halls displaying ancient cannons, ancient swords, ancient firearms, world rare stones, and ancient tree fossils. The treasures from the 13th-14th century Western Europe and various Asian countries are exhibited here. From the vicinity of the fortress, you can also see Taiwan's Kinmen Island.
