Nanputuo Temple is a famous temple in southern Fujian.

It was first built in the late Tang Dynasty and was originally called Sizhou Temple. In 1683, Shi Lang, the Marquis of Jinghai, recovered Taiwan and stationed in Xiamen. He donated money to restore the temple and added the Great Compassion Pavilion, renaming it Nanputuo Temple. The temple faces south and is built against the mountain and facing the sea. It covers an area of 258,000 square meters and is majestic. The main buildings on the central axis are the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Mahavira Hall, the Hall of Joy, the Hall of Great Compassion, and the Sutra Pavilion. The Mahavira Hall is the center of the entire temple and has the typical characteristics of a southern Fujian Buddhist hall. In the center of the hall is the Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the other sides are the 48-armed Guanyin, which is beautifully shaped. 🌟 Highlights: There is a square in front of the Hall of Heavenly Kings, and in front of the square is a square pool for releasing animals, about 30 meters long and wide, and a lotus pond about 70 to 80 meters wide and 100 meters long.
