Beautiful Xiamen- Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden is a bucketlist item when visiting Xiamen. It is located on the southern side of the island, close to Xiamen University, the cable car, Shapowei and Zhongshan Road. It usually costs 40¥ to enter, but entry is free during the major public holidays. It is recommended to set aside about 3-5 hours to explore the gardens, as there is a lot to see. The gardens are home to around 4000 different plant species, and are divided in different sections, like the bamboo forrest, succulent garden or Pine and Fern Garden. There are also plenty of temples to see, and beautiful lawns to have a picnic, or take a nap on.
