Daxingshan Temple

🇨🇳 Daxingshan Temple, also known as Junshan Temple, is a significant Buddhist temple of the Esoteric Buddhism sect, one of the eight major sects of Buddhism. Located in the city of Chang'an, now known as Xi'an, this temple was built during the Western Jin Dynasty over 1,600 years ago. It served as an imperial temple during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. The temple became a center for translating Buddhist scriptures when Indian monks traveled to Chang'an to study and translate texts here. It worked in conjunction with Da Ci'en Temple (home to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which houses the Tripitaka) and Jianfu Temple. Inside the temple, there are golden statues of five Buddhas, Guanyin (the Goddess of Mercy), Budai (the Laughing Buddha), Bodhisattva Vajrapani, and many other sacred deities.
