The night before my check-in, Xi'an experienced its second snowfall of winter, blanketing the city in white. Having left Xi'an after graduation, I missed many snowy winters. This time, I was lucky enough to witness the beauty of "white snow adorning red walls, delicate jade flowers falling." After a night of snowfall, I enjoyed breakfast at the hotel's Latest Recipe all-day dining restaurant. Dressed warmly, I eagerly set out to explore the nearby Xi'an Expo Park covered in snow. 2. The Xi'an Expo Park is easily accessible by car from the hotel. Another nearby attraction is the Chanba National Wetland Park, offering a harmonious blend of ecological beauty. With the gentle ripples of the Bahe River and the swaying reeds, Le Méridien is an excellent choice for a weekend getaway for Xi'an residents. Lost in the beauty of the Expo Park, I returned to the hotel around 1 p.m. and headed straight to Le Mei Chinese Restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately, the restaurant was fully booked with a large group dining. I ordered my food and returned to my room to wait. The wait was worth it, as the dishes exceeded my expectations. 3. This Chinese restaurant specializes in Yunnan cuisine, a rare find in five-star hotel dining. All ingredients are flown in fresh daily from Yunnan, ensuring authentic flavors. I savored the crispy spring rolls, a popular Yunnan snack, and the Wa-style lemon-cured meat salad with dried meat shreds and minced garlic. The steamed sea bass with mushroom sauce in a stone pot, Yunnan white ginseng fried rice, and Yunnan steam pot chicken were all delightful, with tender chicken and a sweet broth. 4. The entrance to Le Mei Chinese Restaurant is adorned with antique furniture, teapots, and tea sets, exuding a traditional charm. The private dining rooms overlook the Bahe River, offering stunning views. The main dining area is exquisitely decorated, blending modern style with ancient elements, creating a harmonious atmosphere. I found many delightful details in this restaurant, including the beautifully designed menu. 5. "Discovery" is a key element of the Le Méridien brand, encouraging guests to explore and find their own unique experiences. The hotel's diverse dining options offer guests a culinary journey of discovery. In addition to the unique Yunnan cuisine, there's also the Han River Korean BBQ Restaurant, serving authentic Korean barbecue. 6. At the Korean restaurant, the staff assists with grilling the food. Their signature dish is beef bibimbap in a stone pot, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Since its opening, this popular restaurant has attracted many Korean residents in Xi'an, thanks to its authentic flavors and affordable prices. 7. In the hotel lobby, a mosaic made of colorful ceramic tiles caught my eye. Initially, I couldn't decipher the image, but later realized it was a map of Shaanxi Province, depicting the mountains and rivers of the Qinling region in shades of blue and green. This moment of discovery is what Le Méridien hopes every guest will experience during their stay.
