A Comprehensive Review of My Stay at the Sheraton Xi'an North City Hotel: A Blend of Family Time and Personal Impressions I recently took my child on a trip to Xi'an, and for the last leg of our journey, we chose to stay at the Sheraton Xi'an North City Hotel for a memorable three-day, two-night family getaway. This experience was a blend of joyful family moments and my own detailed observations about the hotel. I. First Impressions I chose this hotel primarily for its excellent location and convenient transportation. Upon arrival, the check-in process was swift, and we received a thoughtful welcome gift, which instantly boosted our impression. Stepping into the hotel, I could truly appreciate its unique "open shared space" concept. The lobby's layout was cleverly designed, with smooth, intuitive, and simple circulation. The warm lighting created a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The hotel's New Year decorations added a festive touch, immersing us in a celebratory mood. Although the hotel is away from the bustling city center, getting around was extremely easy. A taxi ride of about half an hour could take us to the Bell Tower and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The journey to the airport via the expressway was also smooth, eliminating any worries about missing our flight. II. Deluxe Twin Room Experience We stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room, and upon entering, we were greeted by a sense of warmth. Two spacious and comfortable beds meant no more fighting over the covers! The soft mattress and fluffy duvet promised sweet dreams. The bedside lamps emitted a gentle glow, creating a tranquil sleeping environment. The room was exquisitely decorated, with furniture arranged neatly and rationally. Ample storage space made it easy to store our luggage and belongings. 🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness: The soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a peaceful rest. The cleanliness was also commendable, with the room spotlessly cleaned. 🏘️Room Type/Layout: The room layout was well-designed, maximizing space utilization and creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. 🛌Amenities/Facilities: The bathroom facilities deserve special mention. The bathroom featured a dry-wet separation design, with the shower area completely separated from the rest of the space. The glass door ensured transparency while effectively preventing water splashes, keeping the bathroom dry at all times. A standalone bathtub was nestled in a corner of the bathroom, offering a perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploring. However, the room lacked smart home features, which might be a slight inconvenience for those accustomed to smart controls. III. First Day of Leisure at the Hotel The previous days of our trip had been tiring, and we arrived late, so we decided to relax at the hotel on our first day. We went for the breakfast buffet in the morning, and the variety was astonishing! The authentic Qishan saozi noodles were firm and chewy, with flavorful and savory toppings. A drizzle of chili oil enhanced the aroma. The rou jia mo (meat sandwich) was also authentic, with a crispy exterior and juicy braised meat filling. The Western section offered bread, bacon, fried eggs, and more. The dessert area was a paradise for children, filled with tempting cakes and puddings. IV. Second Day: Culinary Delights and a City Wall Excursion In the morning, we took a taxi to the Muslim Quarter for a culinary adventure. We indulged in soft zeng gao (steamed date cake), spicy and sour liang pi (cold noodles), sweet jing gao (small glutinous rice cakes), and intricately designed traditional sugar art. Every bite was a taste of Xi'an's vibrant street food scene. In the afternoon, we visited the Xi'an City Wall, its weathered bricks bearing witness to a thousand years of history. We strolled along the wall with our child, encountering gate towers at regular intervals. Standing atop the wall, we enjoyed panoramic views of the city, where modern buildings blended harmoniously with ancient structures, creating a captivating scene. Back at the hotel in the evening, our child, tired from the day's adventures, enjoyed a relaxing bath before drifting off to sleep. V. Personal Impressions I stayed with my partner, and the hotel lobby was luxuriously decorated, with an elegant coffee shop perfect for business discussions. Our first impression was of the spaciousness, both in the room and the bathroom, and the bathtub was a definite plus. The 18th-floor room offered stunning lake views, enhancing our stay. 🛌Amenities/Facilities: However, upon opening the window, I realized it wasn't automated, and subsequently discovered that none of the room's features were smart-controlled. This was a slight adjustment for someone accustomed to smart living. The inability to open the windows was also a minor disappointment. 💗Other Tips: The lobby service was attentive, with doormen assisting with luggage and opening car doors. The lack of complimentary late-night snacks might be a drawback for guests who enjoy a midnight treat. Overall, this five-star hotel experience had both strengths and weaknesses. I hope the hotel can improve its smart facilities and complimentary services. This family trip to the Sheraton Xi'an North City Hotel was filled with cherished family memories and my genuine impressions of the hotel. It was a comfortable and enjoyable stay, making for a memorable travel experience.
