Jiaying Temple

Jiaying Temple is located in Jiaying Temple Township, Wuzhi County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. It was built in the first year of the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty (1723). It is a temple of the Dragon King of the Huai and Yellow Rivers built by Emperor Yongzheng to commemorate the dam construction and river closure in Wuzhi, worship the river god, and reward the river management heroes. It mainly includes the Imperial Stele Pavilion, Yan Hall, King Hall, Gongyi Pavilion, and Yuwang Pavilion. Inside the temple, there is a bronze stele written by Emperor Yongzheng himself, standing on the body of a river dragon, intended to suppress evil. There are also north and south courtyards and east and west cross courtyards, with pavilions and corridors, bamboo and wood shade, which is a magnificent Qing Dynasty architectural complex that combines the three forms of government, temple, and yamen, modeled after the Forbidden City. It was once the location of the Yellow River Water Conservancy Committee of the CPC Jilu Yu. Fu Zuoyi, the first Minister of Water Resources of New China, also worked and lived here. There is now a Yellow River history exhibition, which is divided into six parts, with detailed historical materials and rich content. The saying "one Jiaying Temple, half of the Yellow River management history" is enough to prove the former glory of Jiaying Temple.
