A chance encounter with the Asia Hotel team building picnic, and a free feast!

The weather has been lovely these past few days. I planned a week-long trip and finally set off today, driving to the banks of the Daning River for camping. I invited three friends, and we each prepared ingredients and equipment for a close encounter with nature by the Daning River. It was about an hour's drive from home. I had done some research beforehand and chosen a specific location, right under the bridge to Ningchang Ancient Town, where two rivers meet. The river beach at this location is wide and flat, and we could use the pre-built stoves. The area under the bridge also offers shade, which is great for us ladies. When we arrived, we found that the river beach was just as described in the guide. It was very wide. We arrived a little after 10:00, and there were already more than 20 cars parked there, with various groups showing off their cooking skills. We parked our car and started to set up. Next to us, a group of 30 or 40 people were busy at work. After a chat, we learned that they were from the Asia Hotel on a team-building activity. I jokingly said to their manager, "Maybe we should stay at the Asia Hotel next time so we can get a free meal today!" The manager readily agreed and asked how many of us there were, then brought us fruit and drinks. They were very enthusiastic and friendly. I thought to myself, "With such a manager, the hotel service must be excellent." The manager took us to see their stoves. There were four stoves, and each one had someone busy at work, everything organized and efficient. The aroma of food wafted over. The sun was getting stronger, but they worked hard under the scorching sun with smiles on their faces, looking relaxed and comfortable. Around 13:00, it was time for lunch. I was stunned when I walked to the table. This wasn't camping; it was like a restaurant! There were seven or eight dishes, including stewed ribs, stir-fried greens, and dry pot, all served in large bowls. The rice with bacon, potatoes, and preserved meat was especially delicious. I ate three bowls, the first time I had tasted such unique and delicious food. After 15:00, their group gradually left. My friends and I set up our canopy and lay down leisurely, listening to the sound of the river lapping against the shore and watching the fish dance freely in the water. Slowly, I drifted off to sleep. I'm very grateful to the friends from the Asia Hotel for giving us such a unique camping experience. I wish them all the best.
